Advantages Advantages fun, download songs, easy to play, we all love karaoke really

Disadvantages Disadvantages microphones tricky, no more updates

Lips is the fun-packed karaoke style game for the Xbox 360. Many of you may have played the highly entertaining (or at the very least were forced to play at parties) Singstar series for the Sony Playstation 2. With Lips, you are exposed to the Microsoft attack on the singing game market and in most aspects you won’t be disappointed. It is very difficult to play Lips without comparing it to Singstar which is a little unfair as on its own, Lips is a great game. However, due to the competition I can’t help but focus on what this 2008 release lacks over its predecessor. One thing I should say is ... more

Advantages Advantages Some good song, cool mics, cool to have if your not a PlayStation owner

Disadvantages Disadvantages Store not well presented, random scoring, other features a bit gimmicky

For those of us that have heard of the popular PlaySation series Singstar, you will probably be familiar with the new Xbox version, Lips. The game involves singing into microphones along with music and the pitch of your voice is scored as you do so. Well, Lips is like SingStar in that respect, but with a few extras. Lips is better than SingStar in some ways but worse in others. It is better because the microphones are a lot more fun; they are wireless and light up in time to the music. It is better because you can add effects such as delay and reverb to your voice and there is also a vocal ... more

Advantages Advantages Good fun, great party game

Disadvantages Disadvantages Could do with more tracks, mics can be tricky to synch, single player mode is a bit weak

Background I've always been a sucker for karaoke games going back to Singstar on the PS2. Being completely tone deaf when it comes to singing, the ability to give it a go in my own home where I am not going to embarass myself too much has always been appealing. When my daughter told me she wanted to get this game, I was in two minds as I didnt think it would offer anything new. I decided to buy it nonetheless. In the box The game comes with 2 wireless microphones which both take 2 AA batteries which are supplied with the game. These microphones need to be synchronised with the xbox 360 before ... more

Advantages Advantages Great game, good price, batteries seem to last an age!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only half the songs I actually like.

I purchased 'Lips' for £34.99 at a pre-owned price from Gamestation, the normal selling price is £39.99 for the two microphones, 4 aa batteries and the 'Lips' xbox 360 game. Once I opened the game I realised that it had never been opened before and that although I paid a pre-owned price, I wasn't getting a pre-owned game! You get two wireless microphones which have to be synced up to your Xbox 360 by pressing the search button on the front of the Xbox 360 and pressing the button on the bottom of each of the wireless microphones. To place the batteries inside you have to screw off the top of ... more

LIPS MORE THAN A KAREOKE GAME, SINGSTAR HAS COMPETITION 360 WANTS THE FAMILY CROWN AND WANTS TO TAKE ON THE OTHER CONSOLES AND THIS IS ONE OF THEIR GAMES TO HELP, ALONG WITH IN THE MOVIES. The 360 wants to be a serious contender on the family market scene this year and this is one of the new games to help it get the crown is LIPS. It is far more than just a singstar copy.
