relax with a glass of Heaven
Advantages: Versatile, yummy Disadvantages: Price
...of Ireland first released their Baileys Irish Cream onto the market, and it has gone from strength to strength, even now being available in varieties (mint chocolate (award winning in 2008), crème caramel, coffee). The name Baileys is accredited to Andrew Bailey of the R.A. Bailey Company , but this is just a marketing ploy, there was never such a person or company. Baileys is a mixture of whiskey and cream, with hints of chocolate and vanilla, so ... ...was from Costco. In shops, Baileys tends to retail for around the £17 mark. It's quite often on offer, Tescos are currently offering a bottle for just £9 when you spend £30 in store! I find that one bottle lasts me a long while, at least 4 months. Each litre bottle contains 17 units, but I can't figure out if that is meant to imply that there are 17 servings per bottle, or what. With Christmas coming up there are loads of different Baileys gift sets ...

no no no!
Advantages: Looks nice Disadvantages: Tastes horrible
Baileys with a hint of coffee, for me is a fail. I looked at the advert, and it looked really nice, so I thought I'd get it. What a waste of money that was! Firstly it smelled terrible, it was enough to make me gag! So I thought i'd trust the good reviews it had and I got my glass and poured it out on top of some ice (which is how most people drink it, i assume). I liked the colour, it reminded me of iced cappuccino or something similar, which I ... ...cannot explain the horrible sensation I felt as it went down my throat. I still felt it go down my body afterwards, it was actually a horrifying experience. I only drank a little bit and i had a horrible headache afterwards. I don't know if this one had an error in it or something but i dare buy another one. I was shocked. It looked so nice on the adverts, but they are misleading aren't they! Waste of money. If your not fond of drinking, or very ...

Baileys Glide
Advantages: Smooth and refreshing Disadvantages: Discontinued
.... . . I like Baileys but it has got a sharp after-taste that puts me off. Baileys Glide is a sweeter Baileys without the after-taste and is one of the only drinks that I would really drink at home.
If you have a sweet tooth then this is the drink for you. It's like a thin milkshake with alcohol but the alcohol isn't too over bearing.
Unfortuntely, it's very hard to get hold of now as it's been discontinued. Supermarkets don't stock it anymore. ...

Alcoholic Indulgence
Advantages: great taste, luxurious Disadvantages: very bad for you
...is always a bottle of Baileys Irish cream. A couple of years ago I noticed a number of different varieties to my usual 'original' bottle had appeared, including with a hint of coffee, caramel and my new favourite mint chocolate.
Ingredients
Baileys Irish cream consists of Irish Whiskey, Irish spirits and, unsurprisingly, cream. This is flavoured with mint an d dark chocolate flavouring to give a luxurious, festive, flavour. This leads to ... ...servings!
The drink
The baileys itself is a light brown, creamy colour - almost a toffee colour. It's thick and creamy and smells very strongly of alcohol. There are various different serving suggestions for this drink available on the baileys website and also alot of baking recipes available if you have any left after christmas! I like to drink on it's own over ice but it's also a good ingredient for cocktails, and can even be eaten poured ...

Baileys... and Coffee? Winner!

...and Ben and Jerry's have Bailey's Irish Cream in their "Dublin Mudslide" ice cream. Price The price of Baileys varies greatly, depending on what time of year it is and where you buy it from. You can usually get it cheaper at Christmas, where the price normally drops by a couple of pounds. Usually, a 1 litre bottle costs around £14.00, a 75cl bottle around £10.00 and a minature is usually found at around £2.00. As mentioned, you are best buying ... ...good excuse to have a few glasses over the festive period with your mince pies and Christmas TV viewing....*ahem* All flavours of Baileys are the same price. Packaging Baileys have different size bottles, 1 litre, 75cl and the miniature sample bottles of 15cl. All packaging is the same apart from a different colour on the logo for each flavour.
