Listerine Mouthwash Soft Mint

...was scientifically proven that using Listerine mouthwash reduces about 56% more plaque then brushing alone!In most households, mouthwash is getting more and more popular every week, every time I go to the shops (usually Tescos) there seems to be more mouthwash every time I look at it.

I haven't personally tried all of the Listerine products, only two, and so far they've both be good! I'm yet to try more, apart from the Citrus flavour ...

I haven't personally tried all of the Listerine products, only two, and so far they've both be good! I'm yet to try more, apart from the Citrus flavour as i've heard bad things about that one - so stay clear!

My first, and personal favourite is the Softmint Sensation mouthwash, which Listerine claim is a 'Milder Flavour' compared to their other mouthwashes, but still works just as well. If you don't like the burning you get from some mouthwashes, I would stay clear of all Listerine mouthwashes, even the Softmint Sensation - as these still burn my mouth after a good 10 seconds of swirling around my mouth. The flavour of the Softmint Sensation, is well, sensational. I usually use this one three times a day - at lunch time as well as the recommended twice a day (after you brush your teeth in the morning and evening), just because I love the flavour and how fresh it leaves me feeling. I've had this a couple of times, the only reason I have changed to another one for the time being is because the local Tescos where we usually do the main shop don't sell this one in the full size bottles, only the smaller ones, which don't last very long when you use it twice (or more) a day.

The last shop, I decided to go with the Cool Mint flavour. It is a little stronger then the milder flavour ones, and starts to burn a lot quicker. They feel like they both work just as well, but I do prefer the flavour of the Softmint Sensation. The reason I decided to go with the Coolmint flavour, is because for about £1.00 more, I get about twice the amount, saving me a good couple of quid a month. If you have the money, or if they sell the bigger bottles of Softmint Sensation near you, I say go for that one, but it's always worth trying different ones.

Now for the effects. Since I've been using Listerine Mouthwash, I've noticed a pretty big difference. I've always had problems with my teeth and have been told a couple of times that I have early signs of gum disease, as they always use to bleed within thirty odd seconds of brushing. My gums rarely bleed nowadays, and permanently feel healthy, clean and fresh.

All mouthwashes (not just Listerine) have ingredients in them that kills millions of germs in your mouth upon contact. Listerine also claim their mouthwash gives you 24hours protection against plaque if used twice a day after brushing and flossing.

Summary: it's helped my gums, it freshens my breath and it tastes nice... if you haven't already, try it!
