I have been using one of these for approx 8 months and I have to say I am delighted with it.
the writer itself is smaller that conventional drives by about 1.5 inches but that does not retract from what the writer can do.
I have used it to play dvd's and music cd's with no problems.
Will burn DVD's at 8x without a hitch and I am yet to get a coaster from the LiteOn.
I have updated the firmware from the official site with no problems at all.
For the price, they are excellent. and I would highy recommened on if you are looking for a multi burner.
will write to dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw, cdr. cdrw.
Writes at a maximum 12x for dvd+r and 48x for cd's
uses smart burn to limit the chance of burning a coaster.
Comes with Nero 6 burning software.
