There isn't much to find that's wrong with LittleBigPlanet, mainly because you can overlook any of its flaws by just admiring how darn cute it is.
You play as your own Sackboy, whose appearance you can completely change to make him look like whatever you want. There are even some user made levels out there that can show you how to make your Sackboy look like famous characters like Spider-Man and The Joker, so the choices really are limitless, especially with the amount of stickers and decorations that you are given throughout playing the Story Mode.
Levels
The Story Mode itself is wonderful to just look at, just to see how much work must have been put in to make it work so well. Each level is complex, and while they all are fairly linear, there still is a certain amount of freedom to be felt going through each level. While the actual plot isn't anything
to really pay attention to, it's lively and fun, and if you've just spent hours trying to find a good level in the User Made section, you can always give up and guarantee that you'll find something good in the Story.
Basically, each level consists of a simple "Get from A to B" structure, but the amount of variety that you can get from such a simple idea is incredibly surprising. The controls couldn't be simpler as well, only taking up a few buttons, which means that it is most likely incredibly easy for a young child to pick up and play.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer works easily as well, as you can play against any one of your friends without much difficulty. Online can be hard at times, as sometimes it takes a while to search for players, or you might not find anybody at all, but it's worth the wait as you get to mess around through the levels.
User Made Levels
The Online mode on LittleBigPlanet allows you to be able to play levels that have been created by anybody else around the world, and tell them what you think about it as well. Sometimes you can find yourself having to sit through a lot of poorly designed levels in a row, but after a while, you will manage to find a level that has had a lot of time put into it and that works as smooth as an official one. Luckily, to avoid having to play the less than average levels, you can easily filter the search to find only the best rated levels to play.
Creating Levels
The level builder comes with a bundle of tutorials that explain and walk you through very simply how you create a level with the tools that you're going to need. It can be quite difficult to make a level that actually works, but if you can put the time in to really understand each of the tools that you need, it is worth it, just to marvel at what you've created! And then, of course, you can share it with the rest of the world and see what they think!
Sound
A game that is narrated by Stephen Fry can't go wrong. His voice is somehow the perfect voice to narrate such a cute game like this, and the music as well fits perfectly with the game. After a while, it's likely that you'll be humming along to the tunes as well.
Downloadable Content
If you want to spend a bit more money, you can download new items that are being released. A lot of them are simple costumes that, in my opinion, aren't worth it, considering the amount of costumes you are given already. However, one pack to certainly consider buying is the Metal Gear Solid pack. Even if you aren't a fan of the series, in this pack you get a Paintball gun that a lot of users are using in their levels which you unfortunately can't play without one. Somehow, Little Big Planet manages to bring shooting into such a simple game and make it cute!
Overall
Yes, there are some problems sometimes. However, the game is just too cute to describe, so you really can't stay angry at it for very long, mainly because it's just so colourful, and you can do so much with so little.
The slogan for LittleBigPlanet is "Play. Create. Share", and this game certainly succeeds at doing all three of these extremely effectively to create a bright, fun and incredibly happy game.
