Little Bears Trousers was my all time favourite book as a child. Teddies were my favourite toys, I still love them, and they didn't come any cuter than Little Bear. Little bears Trousers is another fantastic book written and illustrated by Jane Hissey.

The story follows Little Bear as he wakes one morning and cant find his beloved trousers. His day is filled by asking all his friends if they have seen them.
Old Bear sends him to Camel who had them for hump warmers. He then sends him to sailor who had them for sails on his boat. Little bear asks zebra, duck, dog and rabbit who have all used his trousers for something and passed them on. Little Bear finally asks Bramwell Brown who is using them, much to Little Bears dismay, to ice his cake. The story ends happily though with Bramwell Brown making a trouser pattern on the cake and Old Bear declaring it a celebration cake for "trousers day". Little bear and all his toy friends all sit down and eat the cake and, after the day Little Bear lost and found his trousers, he always sleeps with them under his pillow.

This story is lovely but its the illustrations that really make the book special. The pictures are full page pictures, the colours are bright and everything looks so real. You can really see the textures of the toy animals. Little bear and rabbit look like they have curly fur, Bramwell Brown looks fuzzy and old bear looks like an old bear, almost a bit thread bare in places. The illustrator makes the animals and toys come to life.
The pictures are also full of detail. The illustrator makes it so easy to incorporate learning games such as counting and finding colours when you are reading this book to a child.

The txt is not really large so it would be a slightly older child that would be able to read the book along with you or alone.

Little Bears Trousers is over 20 years old, its a delightful story book that has never lost its charm.
It can be found on Amazon or e bay from approximately £2.00.

Summary: A joy to read
