Little Tykes Pack 'n' Play travel cot.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why , from where and how much ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cerys , our Grand-daughter is now five months old , and a few months ago became too big to use her moses basket when sleeping over .

Wanting to continue with the babysitting sleep-over it was decided to purchase a cot , however space is a premium , and having a cot erected full time was not an option . Erecting and dismantling a cot for every sleep-over is also inpractical . Therefore the only other option was a travel cot .

There are many such devices on the market , and dependent on manufacturer , the prices vary quite considerably .

The wife and I shopped around , and eventually opted for the Little Tykes ' Pack 'n' Play ' travel cot , available at Mothercare at around £40.00 .

So what do you get for your money ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Open the outer box ( a rather dull effort , with just cot name , model and manufacturer ) , and out pops four items :
1) Instruction sheet - in plain English , and essential to read .
2) Collapsed travel cot .
3) Cot mattress
4) Storage bag.
The Cot :
~~~~~~~~~

Two tone blue with yellow piped edges , that are matched in colour by the feet and top four corner posts . Three sides of the cot are of blue nylon mesh construction , the remainder is of blue nylon contruction . The mattress colour co-ordinates with the blue in the cot , and is basically four sections joined into one to allow folding .

Setting up :
~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is where reading the instructions comes in , as at your first attempt you simply cannot erect the cot , even though it looks so simple. .
Basically you have to part open the cot , which allows for the side rods to clip into place . Each side has two internal rods that lock into a catch . Once these have locked , you simply push down on the centre of the cot , and there you have it one erected cot . All you have to then do is place in your mattress and make up the cot .
To collapse , remove the mattress , pull from the centre of the cot to patially collapse , then unlock the rods via a press of some release buttons , then finally pull it all together .
Once done , you can do this operation in a few seconds flat .
When storing , fold the mattress into a square shape , place into storage bag , and place cot within mattress inner space , then zip it up .
Sizes :
~~~~~~~

Erect : - a respectable 32" tall , 30" wide and 40" long .

Collapsed :- 32" tall , 10" * 10" square .

Other uses :
~~~~~~~~~~~~
As well as travel cot , this item can also be used as a play pen - therefore double value .
Value for money ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A definite 10 / 10 . This item is a godsend , being compact , collapsable , stylish , a reputable brand name , and at an affordable price . Furthermore our grand-daughter loves sleeping in it , thereofre it must also be fairly comfortable . Worth looking at if your thinking of buying one .
