...I bought this kettle nearly 7 years ago and it is still going strong! It is a cordless one and so it makes it really easy to pour from without getting tangled in flex, and it has a filter which is an essential extra when you live in a hard water area like Lincolnshire. I have never had any trouble with it and I am only on my second filter, having had to buy a replacement one beacue I accidentally tore the first while vigorously cleaning the scale from it. My fault, not Philips!! I strongly recommend this kettle as it is pretty much as good as they get and only costs about £30.... Read review

...Dishwashers are an essential piece of kitchen equipment if you have a large family, active lives, and every minute counts. If you rely on your dishwasher to miss the washing-up, don't get this one. We have had 3 failures in 6 months. The prime reason is that the filter which stops food going out of the pipes isn't small enough. Now, unless you are like my mother whom washes her dishes BEFORE putting them in the dishwasher, it is likely that you will have problems. The first time that Hotpoint came to visit us they replaced the filter without us having told them of the problem - this seems to me that it might be a regular failure and stinks of a bad design. When it works it seems to do an adequate job although it doesn't like cleaning rice off your plates! Steer Clear.... Read review

...i bought them around 2 years ago - just returned from glastonbury and wanted to buy something cosmetic after slumming it up in a field for 3 days. i had a short bob at the time and the straighteners finished the job within a few minutes tops. a few years later my hair is past my shoulders and the straighteners work well, however it takes more time to get the job done. last year i used the straighteners on a daily basis for work and noticed my hair became dry and brittle, now i use them every couple of days or every weekend. i can't believe how i coped without this essential item for haircair - value for money and durable....
