“A Blood-Curdling Review.”

You might get fixed

Most men prefer socks or pants.

The Lloyd's Pharmacy Blood Pressure Monitor is the most peculiar present I've ever been given for my birthday. I even emailed my sister and told her I thought so. She pointed out that I'm getting older and if it stops me getting a heart attack or having a stroke then it was a good present. I...

Simple to use, an absolute bargain!

None

A couple of years ago my partner was diagnosed with Diabetes and also a blood pressure level of 220 over 130, which was shockingly (as the nurse informed him) stroke level! And has been having treatment ever since and not nearly as many check-ups as he should have, so when I saw the advert on TV...

not aesthetically pleasing

This isn’t cheap tat as the £9.99 price tag would indicate. I was inspired to write this review because I was horrified at the price tag of most of these BP monitors. I never realised the price that some of the brands were going for. I have one of these; I also bought my dad one. I also have an...

Satisfactory

I have a Lloyds Parmacy automatic, upper arm blood pressure monitor and find it easy to use but the readings very erratic. I am 62 years old, male and in good health. My sugar and cholesterol are slightly high. The nurse took my blood pressure, 151 / 75 she then used the Lloyds meter and it was 171 / 80, two minutes later? Last week my doctor took it, 140 / 80. at home it was 161/75, 30 minutes later? My lloyds readings are from 169 to 142 systolic and 88 to 75 diastolic. So I am going to use the nurse or doctor in future and the metre is going on ebay!

Not for me

“Cheap is rarely best”

Price- at least you won't lose more than £10!

Lack of British Hypertension Society validation

From reading other reviews on this site, it would appear that this monitor is as good as anything on the market: HOWEVER it is not, and is highly unlikely, ever to be clinically validated as the results are not proven to be accurate. In fact in my experience have been well off the mark. This...

Can't find any fault with it and I would say an excellent piece of equipment and at £9.99 one would think...."This must be rubbish"...not so. S.

Just bought one of these and franky, its an absolute bargain. It may not be endorsed by the BMA, but it WAS recommended to me by my nnurse and GP. The results are consistent (despite on reviewer mentioning they varied from 190-100!) and i think if your results are not all that consistent then perhaps you are not following the instructions on when to take your BP, or how to properly take it. My results are in keeping with what i expected (less than in the surgery as i suffe a little bit of "white coat" syndrome and the wifes are almost identical to what she got when tested in the GP surgery last week. Thoroughly recommended. Tone
