If you are like me and always looking for a bargain and to save those pennies, the following may be helpful.
For the past two years I have been using www.screentrade.co.uk for excellent quotes on buildings and contents insurance. This year though Lloyds TSB brought out a deal that was just too good to be true. With their insuredirect scheme they are offering double the discount if your renewal notice is below their quote.
My renewal notice for buildings and contents with screentrade worked out at £104.49, which included a claim for flood damage. Insuredirect quote was £131.97 for a like for like policy, which was a difference of £27.48 Doubling this gave me a discount of £54.96, which brought my quote with insuredirect down to £77.01 for the year. They also sent me £40 worth of Asda vouchers to spend on my weekly groceries. This means the total cost worked out at £37.01 for the year. I am sure you will agree this is an outstanding saving.
A point to note is that the policies must be like for like and is based on your renewal premium. You can also choose what vouchers you what from various high street stores. I chose Asda because we do our weekly shopping there.
