Advantages: Nice looking, good sound
Disadvantages: Disappointing picture, set loses settings if not left on standby

...When looking for a new TV a read all the reviews I could find and found that Loewe scored consistantly high. Although a few other brands had good consistant ratings, like Loewe they were expensive. Finding a stockist was not easy but I eventually found one but they only carried a limited range. I settled on the A26 for a number of reasons not least of which was the good picture and the recommendation of sales staff. Setting up is not easy but I eventually got it set up but found the default picture setting unsatisfactory. After a lot of work I got a reasonable balance although I do not think the picture is any better than TV's at little more than half the price. After all the difficulties I now find the set reverts to default settings if the power is turned off.... Read review

Advantages: 100hz tv-hand built german quality
Disadvantages: uk tv hasnt caught up

...at the others. The picture quality however is the best i have seen in a long time. this far outways any of the cons i have posted. I can well recommend this tv. You will also join an elite group of people who know the loewe make. (prounounced louver). Go and buy this tv.... Read review

...I bought this TV from Empire Direct about 9 months ago for £529 (from memory). What a bargain. Have trawled through the internet to see if this was a good price I was pleased that the best I could find was 50% more. When the TV arrived it was obvious why Loewe have such a high reputation. This TV (although a little like the inside of a toyota in color, grey plastic) is designed to be a part of the furniture rather than some black box that collects dust. 100 Mhz screen helps but it is noticeably better than others and at half the price. Not a flat screen but it hardly shows. Sound is adequate. The on-screen instructions are desgned by someone who understands that we are not all rocket scientists. 2 scarts, has i-link so you can control the DVD and VHS from the TV.
