When I bought my i-pod I originally intended it for solely listening to in the gym, whilst walking to work or travelling etc. but eventually as I increased the size of my library I realised that I had in fact a better variety of music to hand as opposed to my CD collection. This is when i decided to purchase a docking station so that I could listen to my i-pod whilst at home as well as on the go. I came across the Logic3 i-station in white and black, I purchased the black as it was a perfect match for my i-pod. It cost me around £50 perhaps a little under.
Looks: The i-station is available in white or black, it is a smooth plastic construction with rounded edges rather than sharp corners. The bass folds upwards so that it can be transported around easily and prevents damage to the i-station. It has a docking port at the front which connects to the base of the ipod, the ipod can then be left free standing in the cradle. It has 4 buttons on the front and an infa red receiver as it comes complete with a remote control.
Features: The i-station can run off mains or battery power. It takes 4 AA batteries. Battery life depends on how loud you play the music, I find if you play your music constantly on the highest setting the batteries don't really last long. On the front it has four buttons (left to right) Power, volume up, volume down and 3D setting. It also comes complete with a remote control, this is small, flat and very light. Ideal to transport round but sometimes a bit easy to loose. On the remote control you can turn the station on and off, select the 3d function, skip through albums, repeat, shuffle, skip through playlists, skip through songs, pause and adjust the volume. The remote control takes one of the flat round lithium cell batteries (comes included). The sound quality of the i-station is very good even at high volumes, for such a small device it can be turned up to a considerably high volume.
My experience The i-station is very very useful and is just as good as a regular CD player. Its other advantage is that it charges your i-pod whilst it is docked so you're never caught short whilst you are out. It's also battery powered which means you can take it out of the house and use it. I took it on holiday this year and it proved very useful on the airport, round the pool and on the beach. Mine came with a foreign plug as well as an english so I could plug it in over in greece without the need for a travel adapter. The only problem i've had is i've found my ipod sometimes freezes whilst on the docking station but this is easy to rectify by removing the i-pod turning hold off and on and pressing menu and the middle button together until it resets.
Summary Worth every penny and I can honestly say I've used it every day since i bought it! I would recommend this to anyone with an ipod as it comes with a variety of dock adaptors to suit a variety of different i-pods.
Note. I have a 30gb Ipod video in black but have used it with an ipod nano also and had no problems
Advantages: portable, charges while you listen, smart Disadvantages: none
When I bought my ipod, it was great to be able to listen to my music on the go, etc. However, I'd long since chucked out my portable CD player, as I tend to download or burn all songs to my pc and felt there was no more need for CDs. So, without that and thinking that I didn't always have my pc on to listen to music through there, I came accross the istation, as my friend purchased one.
It's so handy to be able to listen to all the 3,000 odd (so ... ...easy to work device.
Usability
To use it is simple, it is plugged into the mains mostly at mine but can run on batteries, making it portable, and comes with different "holders" for different sized ipods, eg the ipod mini, or the ipod 30GB etc.
You just place your ipod into the holder, so that the connection in the istation is in the port at the bottom of the ipod (where you put a USB cable in) and it plays songs straight from your ipod through ...

Advantages: Charges your ipod whilst listening to music! Disadvantages: none!
I decided that with just over 850 songs on my ipod, it was a waste that I could only listen to my music via headphones.
I knew that there were speakers designed specifically for ipod and after looking on the apple site, they recommended a BOSE loudspeaker for £250. Not being able to afford that, I thought that accessing my music without earphones would have to remain a pipe dream.
Then I found this great device.
It only cost £35 - £40, so I became ... ...But I was wrong. This really is a great device.
It's got a port that connects to every ipod in the apple family (apart from shuffle). With 2 speakers and a base speaker, it pumps out music to a loud effect and crystal clear quality. It is shiny white and looks incredibly sexy. It has two blue LEDC lights that shines onto the Ipod, making it look really good in a darken room.
The really funny thing is how something so small can make so much noise; ...

Definately consider it! Review ofLogic3 i-Station Docking Station for iPods and other MP3 Playersby
Raychella
Advantages: Great sound, easy to use, lightweight, compact! Disadvantages: The remote control, but then you don't necessary need it!
When I first bought my ipod it was fine to use as I wanted it to replace a previous mp3 player. It was only after several months that I found it quite annoying that to charge my ipod, without buying any additional accessories, i had to continuously switch my computer on to do it else I would be without the ipod for a while (my previous player was charged through the mains). I also found that as I wanted to listen to music in my room, I would either ... ...earphones for the ipod, so I decide to get an docking station which would charge my ipod and play music aloud, without using USB to the computer. I chose the i-Station 7 which I believe is the one picured above. It comes in the colours black or white. I chose the black one to go with the colour of my ipod. The i-Station is a handy size for storing if you don't have much space available its the perfect size! The i-Station has 3 speakers on it, two ...

Fabulous Speaker System Review ofLogic3 i-Station Docking Station for iPods and other MP3 Playersby
emmahic
Advantages: Lightweight, Sound Quality, Pretty..... Disadvantages: None - simply cant fault this little system
The Logic3 i-Station is by far the best portable speaker system that i have ever come across. The sound is superb and I was very surprised to the quality of the sound from them after purchse. For the price they are outstanding value for money. I bought mine in Euro's so i wont bother quoting the exact price i paid for mine. Also they are a lot cheaper now as they have been on the market for a while.
These speakers come equipped with all the necessary ... ...the i-pod shuffle. It even supports the Nano! It charges ur i-pod while you are listening to music! It even charges the i-pod when the system is powered off as long as it is still plugged into the mains. You can use this product through the mains or as a portable speaker system with 4 AA batteries. Let me also say it lasts well on batteries. From the portable aspect these speakers are truly amazing in their weight. They fold down flat with a protective ...

Funk up your Ipod! Review ofLogic3 i-Station Docking Station for iPods and other MP3 Playersby
emz1310
Advantages: compact, great quality, attractive appearance Disadvantages: can be pricey
Annoyed with my pesky and constantly-breaking headphones, I invested in an i-Station, and the only really negative thing I can say about it is, make sure you search around before you buy so you can find a good offer with free delivery. It can be between £50-60, but in the end I managed to get one for £40 with free delivery.... It's a great piece of kit.... I'm hopeless with gadgets but this is pretty idiot-proof. It's also very attractive and stylish, ... ...and it folds up conveniently for travel purposes, with the speakers well-protected. I love the way it adapts to any i-pod too! Plus I almost forgot...it charges your ipod while you listen; very handy if you have an ipod with a rather dodgy battery life like me! Well I'm no gadget fiend, but I would definately recommend this product if you don't need anything too fancy, just something decent and reliable to play your groovy old tunes at a high quality ...
