Just gotten your psp? you will first notice that great big lovely screen in the middle of it. You will also notice how easy it is to scratch it, even your clothes will leave small scratches across the screen. Your best defence against these annoying scratches on your screen, is a screen protector.
What this product is, is a transparent peice of plastic, with a sticky side on it - does not leave a sticky residue behind - which you put directly onto your psp's screen. The plastic is very strong, it cannot be peirced without a considerable amount of force and a sharp object, which obviously wont happen, but its nice to know nothing will get through to your screen.
---Application instructions:--- 1. Before putting the screen protector on, you want your psp screen to be clean, free from dust and oil. - Best way to do this is to get a peice of cloth and dampen the cloth slightly and wipe the screen gently, and let it dry itself (make sure not to use too much water, you dont want your new toy broken. Also, dont dry with a towel/paper towel, as these leave bits of dust on the screen). 2.Dont touch the sticky side of the protector, no matter what. Your hands are oily, and make the glue on the protector less effective, and you could also risk getting dirt under your protector. 3.Take the peice of plastic film off of the sticky side, and - Quickly, you want to do this as fast as you can to avoid dust gathering on it - align it to the screen and apply it to the screen with help from a peice of card (supplied by the protector. If you loose this, use a soft card, not a credit card). If an air bubble appears under the protector, carefully lift it up and slowly put it back down - using the card too to help. 4.Any small bubbles that are there, try to push them out with your fingers gently (from pressing down on the top of the protector - towards the side of the screen) As you dont want to be lifting the protector up constantly and risking wrecking it. 5.You are finished, hopefully all went well and you have a protected psp, if not - e.g. you dropped the protector on a dirty floor - then most likely you will have to buy a new one. (Just to let you know, you wont get the protector perfect looking, you will have a dot or two of dust under the protector in the corners, its not a big deal, you'll hardly notice it)
Once applied, you will forget that its there, it is hard to see unless you notice a small peice of dust in the corner. The best thing about this screen protector, and many other brands, is that they dont reflect as much sun as the normal sun does, so you can actually play your psp outside!
---small warning--- -Although it is very reccomended that you do buy this product, make sure you get an adult to apply this (younger children will make a mess of it), as it can be messed up during its installation. Although it looks pretty simple to just put it on your screen, without cleaning the screen properly, and planning it carefully, you could end up with bubbles under it, ones that even the peice of card couldnt help you with. -If you dont clean the surface of the screen correctly, you will end up with a tiny bit of dust under the plastic, which even if you take the protector off, and try to take it off, will not come off the sticky side. Also, do NOT touch the sticky side with your hands, or put it down on a surface sticky side down, as this will most likely end up with huge patches of dust, fingerprints and smudges, which wont look nice.
Most people who buy one of these, will just jump head first, and mess it up, ending up having to buy another, because theirs is messed up. Make sure you read the instructions, and if they dont help, search online for more help, as many sites have info on these. The instruction manuals that usually come with screen protectors are normally very basic pointers with small images which dont help much..
The main feature of this screen protector, is obviously to protect your screen, but it also is made so that it doesnt reflect as much sun as the normal screen, so it serves more than one purpose.
I reccomend that you buy one of these, or another screen protector similar to this one if you dont own one, they are a must for your psp, as it will save you from scratches on your screen. Although its a must, it comes at a price, most screen protectors can range from £4-£8 depending on type & quality, so having to buy a new one because you messed up the installation is expensive, so read the instructions before use.
