Well, another review on a mouse you say? Work got me another mouse, because my one was falling apart, and it happened to be this one.
Upon recieving the mouse, i noticed the packaging of course. In its standard blister packed green and white packaging, i thought it was quite good for packaging. you know the company it comes from, and you can actually see the product, alongside with the many advertisments of its features.
Because of its special features, you need the driver cd to use the special buttons. This installed all very easily on my work Windows 2000 and relatively quickly. Because of the lack of USB ports on my work pc, i was able to use the supplied adaptor to connect my recceiver/charger.
This base unit charges the mouse whenever its not in use. it does however, take some time to get used to having to put it back into the base unit after every use. Even though the battery life is claimed to last up to five weeks after a charge, i've not actually tested this. I've never left it for more than four days without it in the base unit and it hasn't ever died on me.
The mouse fits into my hand quite well. Its blob design with groove for the thumb works quite well as it does with other Logitech mice. However, the thumb buttons are situated here, so i'm afraid teh mouse isn't all that left handed friendly.
The buttons work well enough, as they should. I do feel that i have to crawl my thumb back to reach the bottom button. There are two buttons on teh thumb here, which command the internet forwards and backwards (these are reprogrammable with the software). A bit strange for me at first as the bottom button was the back, and the top button was the forward, unlike other mice i've used with a thumb button function.
The Scroll works well, with a tilt capability to scroll the screen horizontally as well as vertically.
The final button, i didn't even realise was a button until the software prompted me to assign it to something. It can be used as an application switcher or a special office button etc, but to be honest, its covered by my palm when i hold the mouse, and so i never use it anyway.
I think this mouse was bought at £40, which is considered expensive for a mouse (although more expensive ones exist!). Its only winning functions are the base station charger and the application switch button which i never use. Other than that, i don't know why its so expensive. Other standard wireless optical mice can be bought for ten pounds cheaper.
However, i'm a big fan of the thumb buttons, and its ability to recharge when not in use. With it being wireless optical as standard these days, its a nice handy piece of computer equipment to have around.
Against its competition (and lets face it, the competition are any other Logitech mice out there!) it fares well. In the end, it comes down to preference of Logitech or Microsoft.

Review of Logitech Cordless Click! Plus Rechargeable Optical Mouse - mouse
Advantages: Freedom of wireless Disadvantages: Slightly weighty
Having bought this some months ago I can give a decent review of it.
This is a cordless optical mouse (ps/2 or USB), which has its own base unit for automatic recharging. In other words there are 2 rechargeable batteries in the mouse which recharge simply by placing the mouse on its unit.
If you dont place the mouse in its base, the batteries will last about a week, so as long as you leave it overnight at least once a week it's fine.
The main ... ...is fairly weighty. Obviously you're not having to pick it up so it's not a big issue, but it's definately not lightweight. It slides around your mat very easily, and I find it much more responsive and accurate than my old mini optical mouse. The difference is amazing.
You can set the base unit anywhere you like, within range, so it could be 5 metres away, or right next to the mouse. As I said it comes with a usb plug, and also a ps/2 adaptor if ...
