First Impressions>> The packaging was great and well presented. On the front a picture of the keyboard was shown and the mouse was visible as well as the receiver through the moulded plastic covering it. Having a look at the box for a few minutes I took both keyboard and mouse out carefully. It came with a USB receiver (looks like a USB storage device and is roughly the same size as one) which could plug into a laptop or the back of the computer easily. They also included a USB dock to extend its reach. Finally, included was a set up CD, 4 AA batteries and instructions which were illustrated to even help the computer illiterate.
Installation>> Installation was a breeze with this product, just inset the AA batteries, which are included, into the keyboard and mouse and then plug the USB receiver into the PC/Laptop. It should be able to work straight there and then after you hit the connect buttons on the receiver then the mouse and keyboard. To get the full features of this fantastic set insert the CD and then follow the simple instructions to install the software. This will allow access to a multitude of features that are very handy.
The Keyboard>> The keyboard is relatively thin and not too weighty. The colour is also fantastic being black and silver, and it doesn't feel cheap. They keyboard has very good ergonomics, where for example the keyboard can be raised to 2 angles. The palm rest is also comforting and is a great additional touch. The buttons feel great to type with as they do not require any effort to press and are relatively springy and nicely spaced.
Features>> The keyboard is great for those who like a lot of multimedia. There are special keys on the sides of the keyboard are dedicated to photos on the left and music on the right. On the left you can zoom in and out of photos and rotate pictures for example. On the right you can access you favourite music application. However these buttons can be pressed accidentally sometimes (as they fall over the edge) when shifting the keyboard around. This doesn't cause any hassle however. You then have more shortcut keys across the top like volume controls and customizable ones too. There is a button on the top right that you can press to tell you the battery condition, i.e. good or low.
The Mouse>> The mouse has a good shape and fits nicely in my hands (I have big hands). It has a quality feel and slides well over surfaces. It takes Two AA batteries and they fit in the underside of the mouse at an angle. The laser is not red like some mice, you can't actually see it. This apparently saves batteries and I am still using my first set. I have had it for about 2 months now. It is very responsive and good for photo/movie editing and 3d apps. The mouse can actually be switched off as well by holding the power button. This is good if you want to leave your computer on standby.
Features>> It has the normal left/right click buttons as well as back/forward buttons located above the scroll wheel. This is useful, but takes getting used to. The scroll wheel can also move left/right to scroll in documents in the corresponding directions. It also has a battery indicator, which turns on when battery levels become low, although I haven't seen it myself yet.
Final Thoughts>> Overall I am pleased I got this package. It is good value for what it can do, and for its stylish looks. At the start the mouse/keyboard sometimes lost responsiveness, but since I repositioned my layout, I have not had this problem. The side buttons I mentioned, sometimes do get pressed and causes apps to start up, but only if you pick it up from the sides. I would recommend this for anyone who likes browsing the net as well as using 3d apps and photo/video editing. This is also good for Vista.

Review of Logitech Cordless Desktop LX 710 Laser - keyboard , mouse
Advantages: No wires, responsive, great battery life, great design and feel Disadvantages: I can't find any but I'm sure someone will!
...batteries but according to the Logitech description of this desktop set and the inclusion of batteries in the box, I shouldn't need them for at least six months.....we'll see :)
First of all, the product is packaged well and the clear plastic lets you see the product before buying. Included in the box is a quick set-up guide and a disc with the Setpoint software on it.
First thing to do is insert the batteries and then plug in the USB receiver. ... ...as well go to the Logitech website and get the latest software as it's greatly improved over the previous version.
The keyboard:
This is a pleasure to use but some might find it a little awkward especially if you had a keyboard that sits at a high angle. Most keyboards are raised at the back with the keys all at an angle. The Logitech although having feet at the back with two height settings still manages to keep its keys perfectly horizontal. ...

...other than Logitech. Logitech have a good reputation for good reason - their products are durable, long-lasting, functional and (dare I say it?) beautiful.
Sitting stylishly on my black glass desk, the Logitech cordless desktop performs amazingly. Using Photoshop for hours a day, and spending the rest editing web pages, I can't afford to have an inferior quality setup. This cordless desktop is the best yet.
The keys are quiet but responsive, well-laid ... ...in black. The silver trim contains a host of useful extra buttons to control photographs, music, email, web, volume and VOIP.
The mouse is precise and smooth (much better than previous models). The 'back' and 'forward' buttons on top are a stroke of genius - very useful but small enough to stay out of the way when you don't need them. Scroll wheel is very good - goes side to side as well (not that I find that particular function terribly useful).

Advantages: A joy to use Disadvantages: the buttons on the edge of the keyboard can be accidently pressed
...this product after my previous logitech wirless keyborad had given up after 3 years of constant use. At first i refused to pay for a new wireless keyboard after seeing the cost of them (my old one had been brought for me with my dell pc). I'll just use a wired keyboard that we had in the house, well i lasted about 2 weeks! While out on a sunday afternoon, i eventually parted with some money for LX710 keyboard and mouse. It was on offer for £29.99.
... ...packaging and knew straight away that i had made the right decision. It was so much lighter than my old set. I plugged in the usb receiver which is so small you hardly notice it. I put the provided batteries in, this was a bonus in its self and they were not just cheap ones either. I presses the connect buttons and i was off. I did out the CD in to take advantage of the extra buttons, i had never really used them on my old set but this one i constanly ...

Advantages: Good Quality, Long range. Disadvantages: The keys on the edge sometimes get in the way.
In my opinion, this is a great keyboard and mouse set. When I first got it, i plugged it in and it seemed to work instantly - no need to install drivers. Also, when the batteries needed replacing, the software just alerted me that they needed replacing. I just put the new ones in, and it worked straight away without needing to re-connect. The mouse is also extremely accurate (especially for gaming) and seems to work on almost any surface. However, ...
