I have recently bought the Logitech Wave cordless set, and I can say it's a big leap forwards for qwerty keyboards in terms of comfort and functionality.

It's a comfortable keyboard for those who do not want to take the time to learn a new layout.
Frankly, I was about to buy a true ergonomic keyboard, one of those with seemingly weird layouts, since this one doesn't look all that different from normal keyboards, but the media keys won me over, and I'm glad they did. This thing is truly comfortable.

I first tested the set under the Ubuntu 7.04 OS. It worked right out of the box, but obviously the media keys aren't configured to do anything. I'll check what signal they send to the pc and use beryl to execute proper actions. Shouldn't be too hard.

Installing it under Windows XP required a software installation. It lasted for about 1/4th of an hour. Nothing too terrible, but not intuitive for the average user.
The provided Logitech application lets you configure pretty much everything about how keys behave. You can use them to launch applications, to activate Vista functions, to open documents, websites...
For instance, since I own XP, I set the Vista 'Flip3d' key to open Eclipse, a programming application, so that I can instantly code, whenever I feel like it. It's very convenient.

The 'F' keys have icons printed on them, and this makes them much more useful than they usually are. They have MS Office icons on them, but as with every media key on this keyboard, they can be reprogrammed to open other applications, such as Open Office modules.

The ctrl, alt, windows etc. keys are larger than usual. Not as much of an ergonomics improvement as I thought, but still, it's a good idea.

I could go on and list all of the small improvements the keyboard brings into the market, but I don't think it's necessary. None of them are truly revolutionary, but as a whole, they make for an incredible typing experience.

Now, regarding the mouse...
The mouse is ambidextrous, and the button on your 'left' side is not comfortable to push at all. However, it won't get pushed by accident too easily, so unless you really need two buttons, you can just ignore it.
The sensor quality is fine enough for everyday use. For gaming you're probably going to need a corded mouse anyway. However efficient the battery use may be, you'll still hate it when they run out of power right when you're about to frag something!
I've been having sweat problems with the 'butt' of the mouse, but the lateral grips stay dry.

REVIEW UPDATE:
It's been more than an year since I've written this review, and my opinions on this keyboard changed quite a bit.
I still think the semi-ergonomic design is a good thing, but it can make typing on normal keyboards a bit awkward at first.
What really let me down however is how the tactile feel of the keyboard worsened over time. Keys can get stuck if you don't push them straight, even if you err by little. This completely ruins the typing experience, as you have to go back and type missing characters. On my next keyboard, I'm going to focus more on how the keys feel, rather than how comfortable my wrists are, even if that is still an important concern.

Overall, I would recommend this set.

Nothing more irritating than having keys getting stuck! Great review, but not one I would buy now.
