THE BASICS: The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick has 12 buttons, an 8 way hat switch, throttle control, trigger. The joystick plugs straight into the USB port and comes with Logitech joystick drivers and a software to allow you to programme your joystick for specific games. Set up is quite easy and you will be gaming in no time. The joystick also features a handle twist control for things like rudder control. This adds another dimension to your gaming experience.
PLAYABILITY: The joysick is very useable for people of all ages. The only downside is that it is made for right-handers as the hand rest and some buttons are placed in a certain way and these cannot be adjusted. The throttle control is nice and smooth to use although I found it to be slightly looser than I would like but its not a big problem. I find the 8 way hat switch very easy to use because it is not too stiff and it is quite smooth. I think that the buttons are decently placed and there are enough buttons to be programmed to your liking.
Ergonomics: The joystick fits into hands quite well but may seem a bit big for smaller hands as there is no hand rest adjustment. The joystick fits nicely on to a desk or between your legs but I found that the throttle got in the way when it is between my legs. The joystick base is well weighted and can be placed almost anywhere.
Extra stuff: The joystick pivot area is covered by a rubber sleeve and this helps to stop dust getting in and reducing playability. The joystick itself may seem slighlty loose compared to other joysticks but it is still okay. The Logitech Extreme 3D pro works on both Mac and PC for great versatility.
I would recommend this joystick to anyone who wants to get into good gaming or just casual gaming as it has some decent features for the price. For hardcore gamers I would recommend a higher end model as this is more for the beginners to more intermediate.
