Logitech Headset

Normally I never use a headset, but I finally got one so that I could use voice applications on games and general internet usage. At first I intended only to use them when I needed the microphone but now I use them all the time and have sold my old speakers as I didn't need them anymore!

The headset provides high quality sound, even at high volumes it doesn't distort the sound and the behind the neck design allows for the headphones to sit comfortably in a position where one ear is free to hear around you so you don't miss the phone ringing or the doorbell whilst on the computer.

The headset is made or a durable plastic that can flex a lot with out putting the cable wire (hidden inside) in danger, this also means that the headset can easily fit a wide range of head sizes. Also the behind the neck design means that the headset sits securely in position with the speakers resting lightly on the ears without too much pressure being put on your ears so the headset is comfortable to wear for long periods of time

The in-line volume and mute controls are very useful and is located about 1/4 the way down the wire (e.g. closer to the headset) the volume is raised/lowered via a spinner which allows you to change the volume quickly and the mute function for the microphone works as a slider switch which is stiff enough to avoid accidental being switched on or off. The background-noise reducing technology that is used means that the microphone delivers clear messages allowing for easy use of voice commands in games and clear speech with internet telephony programs. The microphone boom design allows for the microphone to be moved in all directions, with minimal damage to the cable, to best fit your head so the microphone can sit in the best position next to your mouth allowing for improved speech.

The 2 only problems I have is that I can't seam to turn off the 3D sound setting which can be annoying as I tends to create unwanted echoes when used with programs without a 3D sound setting such as listening to music or playing older computer games, and the second problem is that the foam used as a muffler on the microphone is weak and rips easily and once its ripped it's hard to keep in place and there is a risk of dust and dirt damaging the microphone, but I am told this is a common problem with many headsets and not just this one.

The headset comes packaged in the usual clear plastic cover with easy to follow instructions of how to plug it into your computer (This is not a USB headset, it works with a colour coded double jack setup i.e. one jack into the line out socket and one into the microphone socket on your sound card, although the cable stays as a single cable all the way from the headset, through the in line controls down to the jacks where it only splits into 2 cables right at the end.) and there is no software needed to run it.
