My logitech G15. This is a subject of mixed feelings for me for a variety of reasons.
I brought this when my old generic keyboard had an unfortunate experience and a new one was needed.
There were many alternatives that I could have chosen but I went with this one on a whim.
Initially I was very impressed with the construction and style, though this has worn off slightly as time as gone on.
Ill start with the positive things about the keyboard.
Mechanically it has served me very well. The keys do not stick and are responsive for my level of gaming. The Illumination helps tremendously even if you can touch type fluently. It also adds a level of cool which is always nice as well ^^.
The media controlls are a God send. It is brilliant in that respect, being able to change track, volume, pause, play etc. The volume bar in particular is very intuitive and minute changes are possible. This also works well with the LCD to control your music playing while slaying foul creatures :)
The macro keys are also useful, though I will go into them with more detail later.
The windows lock key is also very useful, stopping that dreaded situation of minimising instead of crouching :D
The LCD, the main hype of the keyboard is good for the email functionality. It allows you to keep a track easily, and it updates on demand to let you check if you have any new email, without exiting film, game etc. Hell it even lets you read the titles of it etc.
Now onto the problems, and unfortunatly they are many.
For a start, even though the keyboard is the longest one I have ever used (and issue in itself), the keys are very squashed complicating matters. For people like me with big hands you may want to look away. Im a fluent touch typist but I find this keyboard hard. My sister has tiny hands and is even more fluent with a keyboard also complains of the same thing. You can see even in the image provided that the keys make a very small part of the keyboard.
The macro keys are very under utilised. Sure they can be good for some programs, but by and large these are merely a waste of space. Space that could have been put to better use. Games just dont seem to have adopted them at all and it is fiddly and VERY frustrating to assign keys, and some games dont pick them up properly. Hell some games such as WOW even ban people for using them.
The same is the case with the LCD screen. It is again under utilised, with the mod community, though very helpful, being very small. The number of games that support the LCD screen are limited and are often useless. eg prey has the health on it, when it is easier to look at the screen.
The brightness is not a major issue, though in any form of a bright room, the screen and keys will fade out quickly and look unattractive, and the screen looks like a calculator screen.
Nearly finished with the abuse ;)
The next issue is with the texture of the keys. They become INCREDIBLY slippy after a while, hindering operation. Some experience this, some dont. I do :( and I dont sweat much.
The final issue with this keyboard and the most serious for me is the USB hubs. What an inspired idea. Seriously. It is brilliant. Just a shame that they are USB 1.1 and therefore work with hardly ANY modern devices. They are also exceptionaly unpowerful. I dont know why they were not USB 2.0 but this hinders my enjoyment most of all.
Overall, I realise that this may seem an over critical review, but it is intended to help people make informed decisions, not based on old old reviews that are floating around.
This IS a good keyboard, though its flaws and lack of community support and some key features unfortuntly does NOT warrent the price tag.
Logitech ARE bringing out a new G15. ; so you may want to hold fire til then.
A shame. Could have been so much better.

I'd never even heard of a gaming keyboard until I read this review, but definately one to steer clear of! Just one query, why 4 stars given the abuse? Paul
