I have had this mouse about 1/2 a year since I brought it, and it has improved browsing and use of my computer greatly. It is simple and elegant - the software is easy to use and allows you to program all the buttons to do different things for different applications. You might want to change the document flip scroll to work as a zoom in Photoshop for example. You can do that in a few simple clicks with the software.
The two features I use most are the flybar type scroll wheel and the back and forward buttons. Both features work as described on the logitech website and have made browsing large websites much easier for me.
As a pointing device the MX Revolution is very smooth. The pad on the bottom of the mouse allow for a smooth glide, while the laser is very accurate. Though as pointed out in my title, the laser is tucked away in a little hole that can get a build up of dust or other dirt, which has lead to erratic movement for me several times. You can clean it with a small microfibre cloth, but it is a small fit. Of course if you keep your desk clean you should have no problems.
It has lasted well so far. The flywheel scroll has taken lots of use but shows no signs of wear. I wouldn't hesitate buying another one, though I probably wouldn't pay more than £50
