logical buy for my needs
Advantages: Cheap, Stylish, good sound Disadvantages: little bulky for carrying around
My reqirement ws for a set of headphones with microphone facility to enable me to use the dictation facility in microsoft office.
I was not particulally interested in the quality of the sound, I was more interested in finding a tool for the job.
The second requirement was that it needed to be compact for carrying around with my laptop, and the final requirement was that it needed to be cheap.
I found that when ... ...jumped on the skype bandwagon, and everywhere I looked only stocked skype headsets with one headphone and mic, and these were at an inflated price.
I desperatly wanted a headset with two headphones, partially because I have four Kids, and this would allow for some protection from distractions whilst I was working.

I found that when I was hunting around for these headphones, the country had jumped on the skype bandwagon, and everywhere I looked only stocked skype headsets with one headphone and mic, and these were at an inflated price. I desperatly wanted a headset with two headphones, partially because I have four Kids, and this would allow for some protection from distractions whilst I was working. I continued my quest and found these headphones in PC world hiding at the back of a shelf, with no price. I asked at the till and was pleasantly suprised when i got the price of £15.99.
The headphone styling is good , it is made from very durable plastic, couloured silver and black. The mic and arm is also made from the same material, which I personaly find better than the flexible type, as it keeps the mic a fixed distance from your mouth, which aids for more accurate voice recognition. The mic also folds up when not in use and fits snugly against the headband without falling down.
The headset offers adequate adjustment and fits my 3 year old daughter well in its smallest setting, and also still offers extra adjustment when altered to my head size which is large.
The ear pieces are circular and have a foam cushion surround covered with tough leatherette which provides good comfort, and the speakers are covered with a thin black foam layer .
The flex is approximately 3 metres long and has two mini-jack terminations, one is for the mic and one for the headphones, these are colour coded in pink for the mic and black for the headphones. The flex has a volume control positioned about 50cm from the headset, this has a handy clip on the back, this is good to stop you snagging the cable when you turn your head. The volume control is a dial type, easy to use with one hand, and on the side of the control is a handy mute button. The flex ends at the right speaker all further wiring is built in to the headset.
The headphones also have a built in noise reducing circuit, which supresses hissing and other unwanted noise sometimes heard.
So now to the headphones at work, these are only a cheap set of headphones, if you are after ultra high qualty headphones, I would suggest looking at bose and the likes. The headphones perform well giving good clarity of sound, I listen to all types of music fromm classical to heavy rock , and have played all types through theese headphones and not been disappointed with the sound. The headphones will play music at a good volume before the sound becomes distorted, and the stereo sound is of a high quality. The response bandwidth is supposed to be 20-20000 Hz
The microhone again records well, my main use has been with voice recognition in office appications, and it works exceptionally well with this, after the intitial set up and training it has performed faultlesly, allowing me to plough through assignments for college.
Robustness, again the headset has performed exceptionally well, it is nearly 12 months old and looks great, only a couple of slight scratches on it . It still performs as it should do, no dodgy wires or bad connections, unlike other headsets I have had that have been rendered useless by broken wires in the flex. The headset is used with my laptop and as such is bundled in the bag with all the other equipment, so it gets quit a hard life, but holds up well to the battering it gets. My only complaint with the headphones is that they don't fold up, a hinge in the headband woud have been good, and as a result they are quite bulky.
Overall opinion, if you want a robust good quality headset with mike then this is definately worth considering, but it is a little bulky.
Advantages: Good sound quality, decent mike, easy to use, good looking Disadvantages: Extended use leaves your ears in immense pain
As a Logitech fan I was very hopeful when I first got hold of this headset.
==Features==
The Logitech headset has a number of good features. These include a microphone so the headset can be used for phone conversations over Skype or to record voice. The cord is very long as well (about 2 meters) so you should have no problems plugging it in and moving around. It also has a volume control and mute switch to allow external control. This saves you ... ...==Sound==
The Logitech headset is aimed at the budget end of the market and if you are a sound connoisseur you will be wanted to look at a more expensive headset. However, the sound quality of the headset is good. Both the base and treble sound solid and it doesn't struggle in either range. Playing music or watching movies is suitably pleasant experience with a whole range of sound coming through. Games sounded excellent with explosions sounding ...
