Round white with a base that is stable. Installations and set up is easy.
PICTURE QUALITY. Is average to poor.likes to have a lot of light when the light level gets low the picture can get grainy. When running this camera over the past couple of years it has locked up when using yahoo messenger (often) though it hasnt done it whilst using MSN, so it could be the way the yahoo messenger works. When focusing you have to do it incrementally as the picture refresh rate sems a little slow but is simple enough just turn the ring at the front of the lens.
CONTROL PANEL.
is very good has a lot of adjustments and has a user interface that allows novices to send emails with a picture or video.Or if you want / need to adjust the image for sharpness ,ratio, brightness ,red ,green and blue levels etc its all there. But you do need this ,as my camera is not as sensitive as it could be. In good light it takes good snaps that are adequate. In low light its very grainy. when using as a web cam it does its job in an adequate manor.
being inbuilt to the camera means you have pictures with sound.the quality is adequate for most speech requirements and its sensitive enough to pick you up clearly.
OVERALL. Not a bad camera especially for beginers and you can create your own photo album with this but who uses this for taking photos ? well if you want a quick snap its handy especially when at your PC (look at my photo in my profile it was taken with one of these ). I got mine free with my broadband modem kit so I cant realy complain and I am not. I accept its limitations but I still have it and use it and cant see the point for me to replace it untill it packs up. An endorsement ? well lets be honest most of us are not broadcast companies and for basic messenger based communication its fine.you do need a decent processor of course but it worked ok on my old pentium II 350.so any modern PC will handle it with ease.
NEGATIVES. I hate the base although its very stable and solid its a real pain to adjust camera up or down. getting a good picture balance in automatic works well in good light, though best to adjust manually in lower light levels. Video refresh rate is a bit slow I dont know if there are better drivers to use now ?
