We received the Logitech QuickCam as a present last Christmas from my parents in Law, so that we could chat online.
The Camera itself was very easy to install and set up thanks to Windows XP's plug and play capabilities.
The picture quality is very good, unless you Web-cam at the weekend when there is a lot of traffic. The camera was also easy to configure to use with both Windows and Yahoo messenger.
However, we were unable to use the flat-panel monitor stand that came with the QuickCam 4000 as our computer desk has a shelf abouve the monitor. Our camera therefore stands on this shelf, and this unfortunately means the camera cable is not able to swivel as intended.
The only other feature that is less than perfect is the face-tracking. Frequently the camera will zoom on a static object in the room, or a part of the anatomy other than the face, which can be slightly embarassing while talking to the in-laws. Eventually we got fed up and switched off the face tracking.
Overall, this camera is very easy to use, and offers great picture quality. If you use it regularly like we do, it is work paying a little bit extra for quality
