Advantages Attractive, Durable, Modern

Disadvantages Privacy shield too loose

When i went out to buy a webcam, i was looking for something cheap yet functional. This webcam hit the nail right on the head.

To start off with, it looks fantastic. The 'Ball-like' appearance makes it stand out from any other webcam product and makes it easy to handle. The webcam can be rotated around its base a full 360 Degrees if needed.

The webcam itself is situated on a decent sized base to avoid it toppling over and grips most surfaces easily with pads on each of the 'legs'.

Ontop of the webcam is the privacy shield which slides down into position over the webcam lens, which serves as an alternative to switching the webcam off. The main problem with this, is the fact that the shield is only held in position by two small grooves. This makes the shield prone to being lost or broken.

The lens is medium sized, which gives it a large view of the surroundings, yet goes well with the overall look.

The webcam also contains an in-built microphone which is situated above the lens, and can only be seen as a small hole.

----------------

The webcam works very well in practice. The software provided with the product provides all the functions needed by a user, and also contains extras, such as how to integrate the webcam into MSN messenger (Useful for beginner users). The software is easily installed, and creates shortcuts on your desktop to open the camera options. The webcam can capture stills and also motion captures for long durations, although the files become rather large the longer the video is.

The advanced options of the webcam let the user control brightness, contrast etc. And also features such as rotating the webcam image, and Zooming and Panning into certain parts of the image. This is very hand for taking still photos of small objects or just to see objects in more detail.

Once your images/Motion Captures are saved, they are stored in a folder of your choice (Normally "My Logitech Pictures" folder), from where they can be edited, resized etc.

The webcam is connected to your computer using a USB cable, from there, the computer should install the relevant drivers/prompt for the software needed.

I know that Logitech products are of high quality, and this webcam is of no exception. A Great Buy.

Sounds reasonable. I have a Logitech that I got free, but doesn't have such advanced features. How much was this one? Cheers. Christina ;-) x
