Well this cam is a bit bulkier than some standard ones. But it is no crappy cam although the price I paid was 60 pounds.
Firstly I liked the look of it and the fact it has an adjustable hinge that will fit on any tv or monitor.
I found that the installation went pretty smooth you have to remember to plug it in when it tells you to.
Ok after the initial setup it is pretty straightforward. SOmetimes you have to run the audio and video setup on yahoo and msn. But then your cam shows up.
Now this is where things got tricky the frame rate was slow and stopped a lot. I thought this was just to do with the internet so I disconnected the internet and tried it on windows movie maker and also the built in software video recorder. The same happened.
I finally found out what the problem was. You need to make sure that you have your graphics card set to full acceleration, you also should have a powered USB Hub 2.0 or take a lot of usb devices out of your computer if you want to see the cam to full affectiveness.
And what an amazing cam it is. Once you enable full acceleration and also power your usb hubs you get a high def web cam with resolutions up to 960x720 . It also has a 640x480 for youtube.
Speaking of youtube you can record using the software and then upload direct to youtube it will also save a copy of your recording on the hard drive.
If you have a low spec machine with adequate graphics and little power then stick with the low spec cams that will give you reasonable resolution and speed.
Speaking of speed we are taling 30 FPS but on yahoo messenger normally at peak times you are looking at 10-15 max.
The cam has a built in microphone, but basically its scratchy and not the best feature of the cam.
