technology. With a sleek design and intuitive placement of the ball, scroll wheel, and buttons, the TrackMan Wheel is perfect for long hours of use. It fits comfortably in your right hand and delivers smooth, ultra-precise tracking through Logitech's optical Marble technology. And because it records motion optically instead of with mechanical parts, there's no need for regular cleaning.
digital radio technology works in a two meter (six foot) range without being pointed at the computer, even on desks crowded with cups, books and papers. Patented optical technology delivers superior precision, reduced wear and smooth tracking - all without the regular cleaning that mechanical trackballs require. The scroll wheel provides easy scrolling and a third button. Made by the world's largest manufacturer of mice and trackballs.
...I ever enjoyed was a logitech cordless mouse that had a thumb switch that could be programmed to do almost anything. Apart from that I prefer the most standard mouse available and this just doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. I would not recommend this and would say stick to the usual if you don't want to look daft and have difficulty clicking on screen buttons.

Advantages: Better than its rivals Disadvantages: Uncomfortable
...as smooth as my old logitech trackman which was very welcome due to the cursor lag I experienced with the wireless version. I have unplugged the microsoft trackball due to how much I like this mouse.
Gaming: I have only tested this mouse briefly in game and haven't configured it properly yet. Having sliced through my nail and into my finger earlier today with a rather large knife I won't get to give it a proper test for a good few days.

Advantages: Space saving, ease of use Disadvantages: cant think of one
I wanted a new mouse, desk space was starting to get limited so I looked into getting a trackball mouse. After trawling through loads of mice and trying them in the shops, I decided I wanted a 2 button + scroll wheel, side trackball mouse. The microsoft version was way to expensive, then I saw this on an auction site (if you`ve read any other of my reviews you`ll know the one!) for £14.99 brand new inc P&P and I had to have it!
Connection is via ... ...included to allow full use for all the buttons. Installing the mouse takes all of 2 minutes and your away. At first it was a bit strange after using a normal mouse , but once used to the thumb wheel it is great. I know alot of people moan about them but all the buttons can be made to activate what ever function you want and the scroll and pointer speed is fully adjustable, so once set up for you it is really is good.
Of course the main plus point ...

Advantages: Ergonomic, easy to use, reduces strain on wrist Disadvantages: Only suitable for right-handed, no extra buttons
I originally got the logitech trackman wheel to relieve the pain in my wrist (from using a mouse too often) as the only part that needs moving is the thumb. I've got to say it really helped. It is much more relaxing to use than a standard mouse - the trackball is actually very smooth. It did take a couple of days to get used to and get a feel for it but in the end it was definitely worth it.
Regarding accuracy, I wouldn't use it to play FPS but ...

TrackMan Marble Wheel combines an easy-to-use scroll wheel with the smooth motion and superior performance of Logitech's optical Marble technology. This gently curved three-button design features a trackball positioned for thumb control, and provides fast, precise cursor movement. Logitech's innovative wheel button is a true wheel that saves you time scrolling through documents in Windows or MacOS. With the scrolling wheel, you can scroll from wherever your cursor rests without having to move over to the scroll bars. Just turn the wheel. It's also this simple to zoom in Microsoft Office; you never have to touch your keyboard or take your eyes off your work. Clicking the scroll wheel gives you the ability to AutoScroll, allowing you to scroll diagonally or in any other direction by rotating the trackball. Scroll freely through documents, such as spreadsheets, which are larger than the screen and control the speed with the trackball.
Well lets start off by saying if you've never tried a trackball you dont know what you are missing!

This really does have to be the best of Logitechs cordless series.
For those of you that are unaware of what a trackball is, imagine an upsidedown mouse. So instead of moving the mouse around the table you just move the ball.
