...to be done. Enter the Logitech V10 Notebook Speakers, a delightfully cheap alternative to a laptop overhaul/replacement and all for the cheap as chips price of £20. I won’t beat around the bush here; it will in fact be very short and to the point. I have limited knowledge of speakers, I didn’t do any intensive research and made the decision to buy them because I had heard of Logitech, liked the look of them and thought £20 was a reasonable price ... ...that much on them anyway.
For £20 I got 2 speakers, which were dead easy to wire up to my laptop. It was just a case of plugging one cable in, positioning the speakers and rebooting. Couldn’t be simpler.
As far as looks go, they are quite narrow, black and look strangely basic, but then again, I didn’t expect something at the top end in terms of technology for the price. Standing just under 18cm high and 15.5cm wide ... more
The sound quality of my laptop has never been the same since I spilt a fine can of Carling over the speakers and being a avid gamer I just could not get into games or let them hold my attention for long enough without sound so something had to be done. Enter the Logitech V10 Notebook Speakers, a delightfully cheap alternative to a laptop overhaul/replacement and all for the cheap as chips price of £20. I won’t beat around the bush here; it will in fact be very short and to the point. I have limited knowledge of speakers, I didn’t do any intensive research and made the decision to buy them because I had heard of Logitech, liked the look of them and thought £20 was a reasonable price so even if they were crap I wouldn’t have wasted that much on them anyway.
Standing just under 18cm high and 15.5cm wide the picture above could be seen as quite deceptive. Whilst they do look a bit like the above picture, Ciao appear to have stretched the image, as they are in reality more square than oblong.
The speakers are held up using 2 plastic stands that fold down from the back. These are not the strongest, but as each speaker only weighs 100g they don’t have to have the strength of Atlas and haven’t broken on me so far. I say so far as I really can see the stand falling apart if they were knocked off the table.
Each speaker pumps out a huge ear shattering 1w per channel. Not loud at all you would think but then you would be wrong. The sound quality is perfect and much better than the sound my laptop used to make. Footsteps in games are now distinguishable and music sounds like it is coming out of my stereo rather than 2 piddly speakers either side of my laptop.
Delighted with my purchase and would recommend them to all laptop and PC users regardless of whether you have damaged your existing speakers.
