Advantages No wires, automatic swtiching on and off, storage clip for USB stick

For laptop and notebook users, using a built-in touchpad can be quite a frustrating experience. Especially when the sensitivity of the pad causes you to unwillingly click on dodgy adverts or make mistakes. It is for this reason that I decided to buy myself a mouse for my notebook. I chose the Logitech V220 cordless optical mouse, which I am more than happy with.

The mouse requires just one AA battery and has a small USB stick which plugs into the computer and sends a wireless signal to the mouse itself. The USB stick looks similar to that of flash memory. A great little feature of this mouse is that the USB stick slots onto the bottom of the mouse when you're not using it. Not only that, but sliding the stick into the clip on the bottom of the mouse automatically causes the mouse to switch off. When removing the stick from the mouse, it automatically causes the mouse to switch on. You can also choose to leave the USB stick in the back of your computer and switch the mouse off yourself.

The range in which the mouse operates really depends on how much battery life you have. Personally, I am using Duracell batteries and I can control my notebook computer from about half way across my living room which, as you can imagine, is great for watching movies from a distance or using the mouse as a remote control to play music.

This is a very satisfying and useful little piece of technology which makes using laptops and notebooks so much easier and without the presence of wires getting in the way. I bought the mouse, with the USB stick, but no batteries, for approximately £10 though it does range up to £30 depending on where you buy it from.
