Advantages: Very punchy, cheap system that does the job well! Disadvantages: You get what you pay for...
I bought these speakers on impulse; I saw them, wanted them, bought them! £24.00 from Tesco. Simple =)
Once I got home, other bits that I bought were put away, then I was straight to the computer, box ripped open and the speakers out. I had left my computer running before my journey, so the music was already on. I quickly ripped my old set of stereo speakers out, and plugged these in!
Compared to the previous speakers, ... ...love with the music as loud as I could possibly bear!
::Ease of Install::
The speaker set consists of a sub unit, 2 x 5 Watt speakers and a little volume control unit. The sub connects to the mains, and also to the volume control. The speakers are connected together and they connect to the sub via a standard jack. – This took me around 5 minutes at most to get setup.

Compared to the previous speakers, £24 was a fantastic investment! I was instantly in love with the music as loud as I could possibly bear!

The speaker set consists of a sub unit, 2 x 5 Watt speakers and a little volume control unit. The sub connects to the mains, and also to the volume control. The speakers are connected together and they connect to the sub via a standard jack. – This took me around 5 minutes at most to get setup.
I did find that most of the cabling was more than an adequate length, the speakers can be positioned where ever you want, probably with plenty of slack! As with the volume control unit!
The only issue that I found was the power cable that came out of the sub was a tad short! The cable itself is only a metre and a bit long, so it meant that I had to position the sub a bit closer to the wall socket that I had intended!
Once up and running, all you need to do is plug the jack into the computer, and voila! - Finished!
For those of you that want to wall mount the speakers, you can do so, rather easily! The stands for them rotate into a wall mount, holding the speaker at a nice angle to the wall. The issues that I can see with this, are that the stand only rotates one way. If you were to wall mount the speakers, then you would only be able to have them facing directly away from the wall, no positioning.
::Sound Quality::
Of course, first thing that I did was to crank it up! At low volumes, the sound quality is incredible. Even to a certain degree at high volumes. I found that when booming, the sub unit tends to distort. Although, when I say high... I do mean rather loud, so not really a bad point!
The sub is around 3" so is a bit of a tiddler, but is more than adequate for music and PC games!
Due to the single jack, the sub unit plays both the left and right channels at the same time, opposed to just the lower frequencies that a larger system would. When 'bass booms' come up, they do indeed sound much better, although not the same as a full 5:1 system!
::Ease of Use::
In a word, very! On/Off button and a volume scroller. Fin.
::Overall::
Overall, I would say that if you want a bit more, but don’t fancy a £300 5:1 speaker set with amp, and the associated sound cards, drivers.. etc. GET THIS!
Priced at between £20 and £30 you can't really go wrong! For the money this system really is a god-send.
Advantages: Great sound for the price. Easy peasy Disadvantages: An independant bass control would be handy - just to turn it down a bit.
Boom Boom Boom.
£19 on ebay! Absolute total bargain. I ain't no stereo buff but even I know my little pair of speakers were, to be honest, duff. As in effin duff. They played twinkle twinkle little star ok but that's it. These on the other hand took me to places where the bass does shine. They are very very loud. really loud. And tiny. You wouldn't think that given the size of box they came in though! That was huge! The slight feeling of dread was ... ...getting them up and running. It literally took 2 minutes before they had sound coming out of them. Lovely sound.
The sub is fairly compact, plugs straight in to the wall and straight into the back of the pc, green to green. The 2 satellites have lots of reach on their cable and sit neatly on either side of the desk. And they are little - just 17cm tall and 6cm wide. If you want you can pop them on the wall but I'm just too lazy for that.
Pop in ...

Advantages: Great price , good overall sound Disadvantages: None . but the neighbours might have a problem.
I got these free at comet when i brought the computer (it,s well worth doing abit of bartering). I did think they would,nt be brilliant as they are around the £25 mark. But they are fantastic the sound is great not at all tinny .
What you get is 2 speakers a superwoofer and a wired volume contol all connection wires where included.
Very easy to install just connect the 2 speakers to the superwoofer and plug into speaker output on your pc.There ... ...15watts satalites 10 watts total peak power 50 watts .Which means nothing to most of us , they can go quite loud espiecally if you have a music mad kid like mine.
No headhones included but there is a headphone jack on the volume button and the speakers automatically go on to mute when headphones are plugged.
The speakers can be wall mounted be they are quite small so they dont take up to much space. But the superwoofer is bigger ,but they are basic ...

Advantages: Value for money Disadvantages: No bass control
I brought these speakers from amazon for £20 with free delivery when they were on offer. I use them at university as I always listen to my music through my laptop now and the laptopo speakers are just not sufficient. I also use the speaker to list to music on friends ipods and other mp3 players.
--Sound Quality--
When I fist saw the speakers I thought that the small speakers may not be loud enough, but i couldn't of been more wrong. These speakers ... ...RMS and gives out some pumping bass. The two 5 watt RMS satellites are also very impressive can give out a rich sound.
--Durability and Ease of use--
I have only had these speakers for a year and have had no problem thus far (they come with a 2 year guarantee). The speakers are small and lightweight so can be placed anywhere. The small control is very easy to use and it has a it has a rolling volume wheel and an on/off button. The control also ...

Advantages: Sound is amazing, cheap and great subwoofer Disadvantages: None
I have always used small and cheap 2.0 speakers that sound tinny even from good brands like philips but when I bought my PC at Comet there was an offer for these speakers half-price, I thought that if they are that price then they must be bad but I got them anyway as my speakerswere on the blink. When I linked these up to my new machine I was amazed at how a 15 watt system can create such great sound. The fact these speakers only need for you to ... ...then another cable in the the back of the computer and then plug it into the wall made it an ideal way to get a subwoofer system without any hastle of pluging individual channels into diferent ports in a 5.1 sound-card. Overall these speakers are a great value way to replace old tinny speakers that have less bass than a xylaphone. ...

Advantages: Great bass, good table top speakers Disadvantages: May be too loud for neighbours
I have had this speaker system for over a few now after buying it when I read the reviews on this site. Basically please do not be fooled by the amount of watts, 9W is more than enough for a sub woofer, it will easily give out a clean bass which is heavy enough to shake the 1st floor when its on the ground floor (watch out for neighbours though). The speakers are fine but be warned that if they are used without the sub woofer they sound horrible. Even if you hate bass you will realise what you are missing if the table top speakers on their own are used. I bought this set for £16 and you shouldn't pay more than £20 for them otherwise you may as well go for the LogitechX-210's. Another good point is that although it emulates the bass of a home cinema system it is at a fraction of the size. It is around 16cm high which is tiny for a sub ...
Advantages: Reasonably priced, easy to set up, reliable Disadvantages: Not stylish, a lot of wires, not top quality and volume
a little speaker-lined cave?
Yes --> Purchase the Logitech Z-10, for £80 from Amazon, with its apparently stylish looks (like I have a clue), and plant them in front of you, then enjoy.
3) Do you think that speakers are a complete waste of money, and you?d much rather spend your money on a fashionable plastic mac for the poodle, shoes, a new car, or turnips?
Yes --> Use something that came with the PC, or search on Amazon by price and painfully fork out a tenner or so
4) Do you think that you want good bass sounds, but are still a penny-pincher at heart and want to save as much as possible?
Yes --> Purchase a 2.1 speaker system from Amazon like the LogitechX210 for around £20-25.
5) Do you think that ?subwoofer? is just one hell of name, and that there?s no way you can possibly live for one more day without one, regardless ...
