Most people aim at good quality sound in PC's. Often good sound card is not enough and better speakers must be bought. That means spending more money for good stuff, or less for cheaper brand. Not necessarily when considering Logitech X-530 5.1 speakers.
First some esential tech data:

Installation is as simple as possible and described weel in manual. Very attractive design gives it professional look. Whole set is assembled with high quality components both inside and outside. Unfortunately there are too many cables and subwoofer looks like attatched to big spiderweb, however are quite thick and strong. Center, front, and subwoofer speakers cables are quite short; even for desktop use lenght is nearly enough and I don't find my desk a big one.
Satellites
Satellites have rotated stands and can be mounted on the wall. I can trully say this is very solid construction. I had a pleasure of accidently dropping one satellite on the floor a few times and it still works fine. Relatively tall sattelites and small stands forced me to put one of them on a side after few drops so it's better to put them somewhere you don't stick your hands too often:) Ocasionally some clicks can be heard but I think this has connection with significant satelites sensitivity to current fluctuactions in my neighbourhood and to other devices in the area like my desklamp or other light sources, and i always know when fridge turns on. Power button, jack headphone and volume control placed on the front righ speaker same as sub vol on subwoofer is not very useful. Lack of remote is dissapointig, and all calibrations I perform on the sound card software. At first i had a strange feeling that rear sats are a bit quiet, again, software calibration solves a problem.
Subwoofer
This is very suprising how pure bass can be heard from this class of device. Glasses shaking on the table and sound still is excellent.Bass is strong and dynamic, maybe a bit shallow, a little distorted and unpleasant when reaching max volume. It's much bigger than in x-210 2.1 model I had before and have more power. (Funny thing is the box where everything is packed: smaller than one in x-210 2.1) Best for house, techno, classic, skaand other similar. I prefer the guitar music and in some cases beats were a bit strong even after turning down the sub. Also very solid as the satellites ( most time i keep my legs on it ).
SoundBut all those cons are not clouding main advantage of those speakers: clean and pure sound in different types of music and even better while gaming or watching movies (especially AC3/DTS).You can really fell your presence in the middle of action: sound of broken glass, gunshots, casings hitting the floor, helicopters flying around...
X-530 are best in thier class and even better than many others more expensive. Although price is suprisigly low the range of it is quite wide so rush is not advised. Speakers are commonly available now and finding a cheaper piece is not a problem (I remember times when i had to wait for mine a few days). And don't forget to buy a good sound card ( min. sb live 5.1 ) - Onboard integrated sound chips offers poor sound quality. Speakers have two-year guarantee.
