I ordered ths off amazon for 49.99, it was sent by courier (Home Delivery Network Ltd) and arrived within 2 days of ordering. Very easy to set up and great price for full 5.1 surround sound. Took 10 mins to hook it up to my Xbox and is amazing while playing Gears of war :D...
First thing you notice is the weight contained in the small box the Speakers come in,its about 1ft square and contains 1 Bass and 5 satellite speakers, each individually packed in plastic bags. The bass unit is quite bulky and for optimal quality should be placed on the floor, but if you dont have much room, (like me) then you can put it it behind your TV or something... The base is the main part of the speaker set up, on the back are about 8 jacks for you to plug in the seperate speakers and inputs. Each is colour coded so its extremely easy for you to hookup the system, took me about 10 mins which included gettin all the packaging off, which if very frustrating! Also, all the power comes from the base unit aswell, which is great as it means you only have 1 wire coing from each Speaker.
The speakers themselves are very small, but very powerful, about 7 inches tall and the front are coverd with black metal mesh which gives them a very cool look, the stands can be rotated to mount them on the wall,i got mine hanging off a radiatior. Each Satelite has to Cones inside it with FDD technology which somehow equally transmits the sound aorund the room. 2 Front speakers,2 rear speaker and one that sits on top of your TV, LCD or chunky and broadcasts all the speaking and stuff so it doesnt get muffled in sound from other speakers, it gives alot of clarity, much more than what you get from your TV.
On most sites it says that the box contains a console adapter, this isnt true. However it does come with a handy adapter which takes you RCA audio cables and turns into one 3.5mm phono jack. This plugs into the back of your Bass unit, and then takes the sound to your speakers. This only gives you 2.1 sound, but when you press a button on the remote control Called "Matrix" then it somehow splits the sound up and gies you an artificial 5.1 surrounding. It works amazingly, sounds just like real 5.1 and emmerces you into what your watching and gives a real feeling of depth. The remote, sadly is on quite a short wire, which means you cant sit right across the room and just flick the matrix switch. The lead itself is about 1.5m long and the remote has 2 buttons; power and matrix. And 2 dials, one for main colume and one for Bass volume. Shame it couldnt be wireless. Also the amount for wires can be hard to hide and can look messy.
Overall a great piece of technology ata great price. Don't hesitate to buy, work with 360 Elite via HDMI by plugging in the the audio apater which comes from the console and connecting up via RCA. By logitech aswell, which in my view are the best make for PC audio, even if i am usin it on my TV!
