I have had the Logitech x-540's a few months to accompany the new computer i have just built and am extreamly impressed. They were my first proper set of computer speakers other then the cheap 2.0 ones you can sometimes get, and i am chuffed to bits with them especially for the price i got them for £40!!!
Well onto the speakers, they have fantastic sound quality for a relitively budget set. One watching a movie in surround sound it is immersive and improves the overall experience no end. The bass is extreamly good adds a whole other depth to the sound as if you turn the bass down or off it just doesn't sound right it sounds tinny, the bass gives it realism. But be warned don't turn the bass and volume up too much as it will wake u your neighbours, I once went downstairs and heard the ceiling creaking, I thought maybe that i should turn it down a bit. Also my parents always seem to be complaining about a rumbling compling from my room.
The speakers have all been constructed very sterdily, the only slight niggle which i would have liked to have seen is that the speaker I have at the rear cannot be angled left and right so cannot direct them properly, also i have had to buy extensions fot the rear speakers just make sure you get good quality ones and you should notice no difference.
The in-line remote that comes with the speakers is very handy for cotrolling the the volume and bass level and also to turn them off. It also has a handy little matrix button which turns a 2.1 signal and turns it into a 5.1 signal so it play through all 5 speakers and is quite effective.
Overall these speakers are amazing for the money and if you are looking to watch movies in surround sound or listen to music these are a perfect choice for you.
