Londis prices are one of the highest in any supermarket I have been to. Maybe it is because like our Londis supermarket it is one of only two supermarkets in our small town. You have to go to one or the other or travel 7 miles to Tescos if you have forgotten anything in the weekly shop.
Most Londis supermarkets are in the smaller towns or villages.
Cat food in Londis is 47p where as in tescos I can get the same brand for 33p. Most items are at least a couple pence more. I could understand it years ago when getting to the smaller towns was awkward but now the country folk should not have to suffer higher prices just because they choose to live in the country and not in the centre of a town. The prices should be the same wherever the supermarket is whether town or country, or in the north, south east or west.
This week on a visit to Londis I gave a £10 note and got change of a £5. Now I know that shops can make mistakes, we all do but most shops have a clip where they put the customers note till the sale is done. This saves any dispute. When I told them, politely, that I had given them a £10 note the owner was called and I was told that he could not do anything until 7pm when they checked the till amounts. He then went on to give me the stores telephone number so that I could call them. I gave them mine. Their mistake I was possitive, and I had another member of the family with me who confirmed it was a £10 note, so it was up to them to ring me. They did. They were wrong and could I go down and get the £5 the next day. To me this is disgraceful.
I still have to use Londis if I run out if the other supermarket hasnt got what I want and I forget from tescos but I do it with a heavy heart.

this sounds like poor customer service, i dont live very near a londis but do know of them! i rmember once i was buying something on my card and they neglected to tell me there was a fee, i quickly noticed and cancelled my transaction! disgusting! nic :)
Advantages: Not too many, let me think - oh yeah, they do a nice range of breads and cooked meats! lol Disadvantages: Dirty, over expensive, staff who know nothing.... oh, just read the op!
