I must comment on the recent rape story involving Sally. I don't think the writers have shown this as realistic as they might have. I mean would Sally really have talked to four different guys about her ordeal BEFORE talking to a trained female WPC or rape counsellor ? I doubt it and this I'm afraid is another example of why the show has lost the plot. Perhaps like Heartbeat that comes on before it London's Burning has now been on our screens too long . THe show reminds me of a boxer well past his peak who refuses to retire but just won't lie down ! This was once a top show but now nearly every street in London has had a fire and things are becoming farcical . You can have too much of a good thing and if I were the production crew at London's Burning I'd quit whilst still ahead.
London's Burning is shown on Sunday's ITV 9pm and has been running for thirteen years.
Advantages: You wont get too excited watching it Disadvantages: Dull, monotonous
This is a programme almost entirely devoted to the personal lives of a group of people who are apparently firefighters. I suppose having endless series about the other emergency services – police, hospitals, er vets it is de rigeur to have one set in a fire station. Unfortunately (and I suppose thankfully) there are only a limited number of ways the writers can use this background. Hence the fact that the personal lives of the characters swamp ... ...jaws of life.
The brigade commander still looks as if he’s likely to ask them all whether they want to swap their house insurance to Direct Line. He is presently struggling through the most implausible story line where his female friend (Shoestrings receptionist for those who like TV’s useless facts) wants to develop an area and it might get in the way of fire engines getting to incidents quickly. How do they keep their face straight.

As a Firefighter i watch this program very closely and i can honestly say the program makers have nearly got it spot on, i am talking about the firefighting aspect of the show not the story lines. All the actors/actresses on the show could nearly fit into a real fire station no problem.
Londons Burning is set around a fire station called Blackwall and the Firefighters in it. The show focuses on the different "shouts" they are called out to and their ... ...I think Londons Burning is very realistic and can be rivoting, sometimes i wish it was on for longer because it has me glued to my seaton a sunday night.
I know the program has been around for a number of years, but i still feel there is room for another series if they move with the times like they have done.
Idont know what everyone else thinks because i have a bias opinion. ...

Advantages: Tense drama Disadvantages: Disadvantages? As if!
London's Burning is a real good, gripping, fire-fighting drama hosted by ITV on Sunday evenings. This HOT drama is set obviously in London at Blackwall Watch. The characters are amazing and there are always new ones entering and i suppose there'll have to be after the cliff-hanging last episode of the previous series. I'll tell you about it later. The storylines are nail-bitingly realistic and can make you quite frustrated, emotional and certainly ... ...edge of your seat when they have a large tragedy on the show, which really they have to have quite often to keep viewers. However i won't stop watching it. It's one of my favourite dramas on the tely! It's timed a bit wrong though. You sit down to relax on a Sunday evening and it makes you all tense and excitied about the story. Some of my favourite characters are recall, sally and the lovely old biddy that does the lunches. She's cool! I can't stand ...

Advantages: Brilliant effects Disadvantages: not on enough!
Londons Burning is areally good action programme, the characters and story lines are excellent and have you on the edge of your seat!
The fires and resues are so incredibly realistic, you really worry!!!
The thing I like about it is you feel you get to know the characters so well and this helps you get into it, as it deals a lot with thier out of hours lives too. Plus it also gives you the funny side too so you can have a giggle as well as a cry!!.

Advantages: realistic Disadvantages: sad, depressive, bland
Loads of people have had a go at EastEnders for being dreary and dull: when was the last time you saw an outburst of joy on the Bluewatch? I had to stop watching this programme because I ended up just feeling even worse abotu Sunday nights than I already did. Even with school the next day, this is possible.
Alhtough there is the argument that it is true to life, surely people cannot find this rather sad portrayal of London life in the emergency ... ...hear you think. 'It's meant to be realistic'. Fair comment if you are watching Big Brother, but when I watch drama I want to be entertained. I want to have good time occasionally.
London's Burning is sad, depressing and getting to be so drawn out that it isn't even comic anymore. Mind you, it's a Sunday night, and what is the competition on terrestrial? ...

Advantages: Some interesting articles Disadvantages: Far too much space given to things I'm not interested in
Fairbrass (EastEnders, London’sBurning) and Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing and, erm, not much else) are interviewed. Not really interested in these two, except reading that Craig is 6’ 3” sends me a teensy bit wobbly. I like TALL men!
Puzzles… “Does Ruth know your secrets?” – yes, psychic Ruth gets out her bones and crystals to tell a divorced woman she was unhappy in her marriage. Gosh, what talent! … short story… household tips…
“My big sister’s 20 years older than me – but we both go to the same school” – yes, you’ve guessed it, one’s an assistant teacher, one’s a pupil. After all, that age gap’s nothing, there’s nearly 31 years between me and my sister!
So, to sum up, before you all start yawning with boredom… ...

Peter Simon
Sounds a bit biblical, Peter is an avuncular Bill Haley look-a-like. With a sparkle in his eye and a raised eyebrow, Peter is the one you want to entertain the kids at Christmas with the magic tricks. Be a bloody good trick to sell some of this tat.
Lynn Taylor
Good looking, but pushy. Unless you?re into dominatrix, it?s time to turn over. (The more I read that last sentence, the more Freudian it sounds.) Not for me, I already spend most of my life being bullied by women.
Gerry McCulloch
I?ve no love for this guy, with his grating Scottish accent and lips on a par with Sophie?s, he irritates me. There is something creepy about him, a Presbyterian intensity that says, ?Bid more for this or you?ll burn in hell for all eternity.?
