"Best of the Big Airports"

As big airports go, Gatwick is hard to beat.

The two terminals (north and south) have their own character, but these comments can apply equally to both. Gatwick is well signed, and while it is busy and there can be queues it all seems to be relatively hastle free. Shops and restaurants are better than average both landside and airside. The abolition of EU duty free now means that domestic passengers get to go through the nice airside areas with shops (rather than being segregated).

There are some longish distances at Gatwick. South terminal domestic is infamous - people joke that they might as well walk. The two terminals are connected by an efficient train - but allow adequate time, as it takes a few minutes. Railway station and plenty of coaches at the airport helps a lot.
