Advantages Great location, reputation, good teachers
Disadvantages Some of the halls
King's main campus is located on the Strand, there couldn't be a better London location, overlooking the river. Its fantastic. The library is THE best place to work. It is the former Public Records Office and is a beautiful building which has been transformed inside into a state of the art library.
I studied history which King's has a great reputation for. The course was excellent and varried, and the opportunity to follow courses in other Uni of London colleges was great. The course is different to those in most unis as there was very little time spent being taught. To do history at King's you have to be self-motivated! The other disadvantage to this is that you get to know very few people off your course becaause you see each other so little.
If you're going into halls THINK. Stamford St and Great Dover St may look great but they are difficult to live in - you have a flat and after the door closes on the flat you have little contact with those outside the 3-4 people in the flat. There is no common room. I found this a huge problem and would definately try for intercollegiate halls if I was going again - the people in them have a lot of fun.
The student union has a few bars in various sites. All are good value and worth visiting.
Overall King's is great. If you get onto a sports team or join a society its even better. If you're not from a big city then going to a uni like KCL prepares you for the real world in a way that a compus uni just can't do
