...and is very cheap for London but can get rather crowded. There are three floors in the venue each playing different styles of music, the drinks are cheap and if you dont feel like dancing you can just sit down upstairs and smoke shisha. Most of the halls also have their own bars and again these sell very cheap drinks but unfortunately close really early. Despite the lack of organised events, however, there are always places to go at night such as ... ...world famous clubs here in London and living so near is a perfect opportunity to try them. They are however rather expensive but sometimes discounts are available with an NUS card and Ministry of Sound has a student night every Wednesday with only a fiver entrance fee.
If you are not into clubbing there are plenty of museums, art galleries and shops near to the LSE campus and once you have done your set excersices you have all the weekend to explore ...

Cant keep me out Review ofLondon University School of Economics & Political Scienceby

Advantages: So prestigious with excellent facilities, social life Disadvantages: Expense
...double the amount of comaparable London institutions. Though it is also claimed that they are short of funds.
The Library makes me envious as they have many copies of core texts & even if you can't have it for long, at least you can photocopy them. Only thing that gets me is why does the security guard sometimes flip through the pages of your books you are about to leave - what is he hoping to find? A book within a book?
One touch which really ... ...Being in the centre of London means that the nightlife is there if you want it. Most clubs have student nights so u can have fun without spending too much. Make sure u make a trip to the Superclubs Home in Leicester Sq & Fabric in Farringdon. If u are coming from a country backwater then i'd have to say prepare yourself for the bright lights of London & enjoy your university years. ...

Advantages: Very well known Disadvantages: Left on your own
This is a very prestigious university, no doubt! It has always been in the top five of the university league. For social sciences this is the No.1 university throughout Europe! However, as a third year student, I really do not think it's the place to be. Unless you're always the No. 1 student, you get As without looking at a book, and can readily acceptable staying three years in a place to be self-taught, it's not the place for you. From day one, ... ...your lecturer, your tutor, or your classmates, nobody cares about whether you study or not, or whether you pass or not. Also, they are very poor at organising social events so for those clubbers and whoever else, be prepared to be bored to death!
To give it credit for being so renowned, and being so close to all the banks and established firms, blah blah blah as written in the prospectus, but who cares if you go in there and don't expect to merely ...

Advantages: A respectable degree, world renowned scholars Disadvantages: teaching, resources, social life
...here than other Universtiy of London universities. Unfotrunately, after the initial phase, the seams started to show. Short of funds, the LSE employs its Foreign postgraduates to teach its undergraduates, many of which have had no more than a few years experience in this country.
Thus, teaching suffers, my friends and I, found it increasingly difficult to understand and was always a struggle. Far from the best year of my life. We slowly came to ... ...postgraduate study programmes.
Looking at this situation objectively, the LSE, struggling with funds, invite many affluent foreign students, which isn't in itself a problem, but does turn into a major one when its postgraduates who have little experience of life and teaching in Britain are made to teach undergraduates.
Thus, from a purely academic perspective, the LSE is far from what its reputation dictates. From a social persepective, disappointment ...

Modena
Advantages: Excellent reputation, Disadvantages: Hard to get into, old, expensive
If you havent heard of the LSE, you are either ignorant or not destined for a good career... the LSE is a world famous center for political sciences and okay, it may not be the biggest university or the livliest one, it makes up for it with it's presteige.
Alumni include Cherie Blair and John F Kennedy, and lets face it, where else are U gonna find staff who have served on the Bank of England monetary comittee and advisors to public policy who write ... ...in the world, but what do you expect from a British university? if you actually attended a lecture, you would realise that the lecturers are world class and more than willing to help you.
Anyone that thinks it the LSE is a second rate university should look at the number of noble prize winners who have studied there and the amount of foreign intake, as well as the notorious members of staff...
Also, the library is world class, although it has been ...
