...I play almost daily – Loopy Lotto.
What is Loopy Lotto? Well, obviously, it’s another lottery site based on much the same process as all the others. It’s brought to us by Allegran Ltd, based in London, and the website itself is very basic and simple with a lot of colour. There aren’t many pages to navigate and so even a net novice would be able to cope with it! You register with your email address and also enter your name and address ... ...be a sister site to Loopy Lotto operating very similarly and if you visit that site you can collect more miles as waiting to win enough to claim would take forever! (You need 25000 Euromiles to get free air tickets) Anyway, I digress, the second prize for matching 4 numbers is £10 and the Grand First Prize is a million pounds – yes, that’s £1000,000!
Apparently if you DO win the big one it isn’t paid in one lump but by 30 annual instalments ... more
Ah, we’d all like to make our fortune by winning it, wouldn’t we?! It’s even better if we don’t have to pay out anything in the first place. Someone, somewhere must have won such a lottery/draw/prize AND actually received it, surely? Well, no, not me (yet?)
Like a lot of internet users I’ve had my fair share of dabbling with various sites that offer free lottos, prize draws, competitions and such like and I will consider to do so if they are free to enter and there are no potential catches. I’ve won small prizes here and there – I received a 50p cheque seven times from Bananalotto for a number of small wins, £10 from tombola and vouchers from other sites. I’ve been fairly loyal to the two aforementioned sites since I started using the internet about 3 or 4 years ago and there is also another site that I play almost daily – Loopy Lotto.
You register with your email address and also enter your name and address details in case you win a prize AND you want to receive it! After that each day you can play free of charge for three games – you can play extra games each time you enter someone’s email address for referral. You simply select 7 seven numbers ( six and a bonus number) from the grid numbered 1-49 much like the National Lottery then to enter you just click on ad banner and a small confirmation box will pop up with an entry number. You have to wait at least five minutes between each entry so you can’t just stay on the site and bang them out in quick succession but I don’t find that a problem if I have other windows open doing other things at the same time. That’s it basically. You just have to cross your fingers after that!
The lotto results are emailed to you each day and if you do win a prize it’s automatically allocated to you so there is no need to log in to check the winning numbers or claim your prize if you’re lucky. The minimum needed for the third prize of 40 Euromiles (much like Airmiles) is 3 matching numbers – this used to yield 50p prize money but that changed sometime last year. Euromiles appears to be a sister site to Loopy Lotto operating very similarly and if you visit that site you can collect more miles as waiting to win enough to claim would take forever! (You need 25000 Euromiles to get free air tickets) Anyway, I digress, the second prize for matching 4 numbers is £10 and the Grand First Prize is a million pounds – yes, that’s £1000,000! Apparently if you DO win the big one it isn’t paid in one lump but by 30 annual instalments according to the terms and conditions so you wouldn’t be able to go totally wild immediately and what happens if the site/providers go bust or disappear during the payout period is anyone’s guess – but then again, I don’t think I’ll lose any sleep worrying about it given the slim chances of winning in the first place but you may want to bear it in mind!
So have I been lucky, you’re wondering? Wellllll, thereby hangs a tail…… So far I have netted £34 in prize money (the £4 being when the 50p prizes were still given) BUT I have yet to see a cheque for any of it despite claiming. Firstly, you have to wait until you have at least £20 in winnings to request a cheque payout so you’ve got to hold your breath and wait for at least two second prizes (£10). I was lucky and I accrued £24 and so duly requested a cheque…..back at the beginning of November last year. I checked their terms and conditions and it states that once a cheque has been requested it should be sent within 28 days. I waited…..and waited…until just before Christmas when I could have done with some extra money so I emailed them to enquire as to the whereabouts of my cheque. They responded after a few days explaining that December is a busy month (NO!) and they aimed to release it to me on the January cheque run. The middle of January came and still nothing so I emailed them again and received a rather abrupt response saying “we TOLD you January – the END of January” Oh well, OK. In the meantime I had been lucky enough to win another £10 so I enquired as to whether, considering they hadn’t yet processed my £24 claim, they could add this on and make it £34 instead of me having to wait until I had another £20 to claim again. A few days later the abrupt response came “Claim it!” – ummm, yeah, but that defeats the point of my question, surely?! Right, as I write it’s the 2nd February and I STILL have not received anything from them. I shall wait until the end of the week and contact them again. I’m torn whether to continue playing and hope I win another £10 to claim the rest or whether to give it up altogether and write it all off.
I hope that gives you some idea of what you could be facing! I mean, assuming they have a monthly cheque run like most places, then what happened to the November and December cheque runs? Since when did 28 days suddenly become about 80+ days?! If they can’t manage to payout £24 what hope of ever getting a million should you be so lucky? Hmmmmmm.
Enough of my venting, should you still be interested the lotto games are opened to only UK and US players and the website also contains a listing of recent results, update page, terms and conditions, contact details and not much else so there’s no chance of navigating yourself into a black hole as with many websites.
I think that covers it. I’ve been relatively lucky with wins considering the chances, not so lucky at actually seeing the money. If you’re still interested after listening to my experiences then visit www.loopylotto.com and try your chances, and if you receive anything from them let me know!!
P.S. Should I receive a cheque from then in due course then I will update this.
**Update 10th Feb** Emailed them yesterday enquiring again if/when I would be paid - short, abrupt reply simply saying "It will be sent out" !!?? **
**Update 11th Feb** FANFARES! DRUM ROLL!! The cheque arrived today *thud* - so it only takes 3 months from claiming to get it after all not the 28 days stated!! Now I have a dilemma...I have a £10 prize with them but can't claim until I have £20 - do I persevere with them until I win another £10 and got through the process again (could take MONTHS) or give it up now?!!
Advantages: Free to play + A Big Top Prize Disadvantages: Not much in other prizes

Advantages: Free to enter Disadvantages: Did not respond to my emails or letter
...myself have been playing the Loopy Lotto daily draw for a couple of years now and then I won £10 pounds on the Loopy Lotto draw back in October 2008. I thought great I have actually won something. Little did I know that I was never going to receive those winnings. Any way I duly claimed my winnings as per the web site instructions. But as the weeks passed the winnings (10 pounds) never came. So I emailed their customer services several times but ... ...February 2009 I have still not received any reply to that letter. or the emails that I sent So I have therefore given up doing the Loopy Lotto draw as they seem unlikely to pay out any winnings. I hope that by sharing my experience it will help others. ...

Advantages: There are none Disadvantages: They advertised winning for free - they don't mean it
I've played on loopylotto for years. In the old days when they were run by allegran they used to send winnings in cash - the odd pound coin stuck to a piece of card and shoved in an envelope. In August 2008 both my wife and I won - they failed to pay. They tried to fob me off with two nights in a hotel somewhere - all you have to do is pay for the food - yeah right - it's cheaper to pay for the room!
I've emailed them on many, many occasions to ... ...have any money to pay out for winnings.
I understand they don't pay affiliates who advertise their site either.
So, unless you genuinely enjoy getting the advertising emails from them every day I wouldn't hold out any hope of getting £25 never mind the so called £1million!
They are a shambles and should be avoided. ...

My mum and a few of my friends have all won £20 on LoopyLotto but have never received their winnings. Some won away back in March 2008.
Everyone used the feedback form on the website, and received an email with a list of commonly asked questions and if your question was not included, you had to click on another link for your query to be sent to a member of the LoopyLotto staff, which they all did, but nothing was heard after that.
I also contacted ... ...not reply.
They have been threatened with legal action, yet this doesn't seem to bother them as no reply was received to the threat. There is nothing more we can do if we don't receive replies. :O(
DO NOT go near this website as it is a waste of time entering the draws. ...
