I have recently been made redundant and am spending time at home while job hunting again. While doing my chores in the daytime, I have got into the habit of having the tele on in the background for company. Not a good idea! I have become addicted to 'Loose Women'.

For anyone who haven't seen it, it is a sort of chat show with a difference. It is more like being nosey and listening into a group of women ( mostly in their 40's) gossiping, bitching and generally chatting and giving their opinions on anything and everything.

There is usually 4 women everyday, usually the same ones but occasionally someone different will join them as a guest.
Let me give a little introduction:-

Kaye Adams usually heads the group and leads the topic of conversation. She is quite strait laced and has quite old fashioned views, but at the same time, a very strong, independant woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. ( However, Kaye is on maternity leave at the moment and is being covered by journalist and Celebrity BB contestant, Carole Malone.

Colleen Nolan, youngest of the singing 70's group The Nolans, also ex wife of Shane Richie. Colleen is very witty, takes the mickey out of herself quite alot, especially commenting on her weight, the size of her boobs and how much she loves men!

Carol McGiffin, ex wife of Chris Evans, presenter and DJ. I love Carol, I find her so funny, she reminds me of a friend of mine and I share alot of her opinions. She is single, lives alone and therefore has a different perspective on things than the others. She has a bit of a reputation for not caring what people thinks of her, but she has high values and morals.

Jayne Mcdonald, singer who found fame from 'The Cruise'. Jayne has a really lovely nature, she is very down to earth with a very dry humour. Again she laughs at herself alot and makes alot of references to her ex husband, Heinrich, who she doesn't like very much - to put it mildly!

The other celebs who sometimes sit in for the others are, Sheree Murphy, actress from Emmerdale, Denise Welch from Bad Girls and Corrie and Sherrie Hewson, actress.

The programme is very laid back, very open, extremely funny and because of the mix of personalities, you usually find that you share opinions with one or the other of them. It really feels as if you are seeing all your best friends for an hour, the only difference is that you can't have your input. Saying that though, you can do this by emailing the show, which they encourage, and will even read them out. I haven't gone this far though!

Everyday, there are at least 2 celebrity guests who come in for a chat, again it is conducted in a very informal, laid back style.
There is also a daily cash prize draw which you can phone into.

The topics of conversation covers just about every subject you can think of, such as:-
Should you date a much younger man?
Would you forgive you man if he was unfaithful?
Would you let your teenagers have their boy/girlfriends sleep over at your house?
Who is the sexiest MP?

You get the picture? The conversations can be lighthearted and witty, but sometimes they can get quite deep and heated, and its nice to hear other peoples opinions on some thing which may be something that you've been pondering yourself. ( Not particularly the MP one!)

This programme probably won't be to everyones cup of tea, but if you need cheering up between 12.30 - 1.30, Monday to Friday, I recommend you check it out. It certainly brings a smile to my face!
