Nintendo DS's touch screen capabilities. For Lost in Blue 2 Konami has worked to build on the basis of the original game to create an even deeper more involving sequel. Once again the player is cast as a young man who along with a female friend is washed up on the beach of an apparently deserted island. Working together the pair must search for a way off the island but also survive the many dangers that lay ahead. The game has been designed to force the player into thinking about how they would survive in such an environment. Initially this involves finding food and weapons before exploring the island. But as in real life exploration is tiring so the pair must rest drink water to avoid dehydration and find further means of sustenance especially as the mountainous nature of the island also necessitates the heroes climbing steep rock faces and hills. In addition to the physical elements the pair faces Lost in Blue 2 also makes more extensive use of the touch screen capabilities of the Nintendo DS. Items are easily collected and examined by the player while the stylus is now used for carpentry wicker work cooking food that would otherwise make the heroes ill and skin diving. The two characters also boast individual skills with the male character more physically adept at climbing fighting and recovering his energy levels while the girl is more accurate with a bow and arrow can hold her breath underwater for longer and is more adept at finding ingredients for meals. Other new elements include the ability to fight wild animals when threatened using whatever weapons the pair have accrued. Similarly the island's tropical location leaves the heroes exposed to hurricanes and earthquakes adding an unpredictable element to a game that constantly surprises and delights the player.
Advantages: Hours of gameplay. Lots of puzzles to solve. Disadvantages: Skye can't feed herself!
Lost in Blue is the third game in the Survival kids' series. The first was released on the Game boy, the second on game Boy Colour (but not available in this country) and now the third on Nintendo DS. It was released in this country by Konami in November 2005. There are a number of differences between the older games and this one Two of the main features would be the graphics and the use of the stylus throughout the game. The graphics are much clearer ... ...The people walk almost normally and birds fly about. Rabbits and rats scurry about on the ground, whilst the water really looks like it is running. Much more appealing to the eye. As for the stylus, which is a pen like device and comes with the DS console, it provides much more fun and interaction with the game. It is used throughout the game for digging, building and searching. But more about that later. The other obvious difference is the fact ...

Advantages: plenty of different levels to play Disadvantages: Amy not being able to feed herself
Took a little while to get started with this game as no matter who you chose to be the main character they both died if one of them didn't get enough food, it would have been good if say Skye could feed herself even though the boy was the main character, after a lot of perseverance managed to eventually feed them enough to be able to explore the island a little bit and find the water source where they could drink and also the cave for shelter, good ... ...etc, and eventually even being able to build furniture, such as bed, shelfs, table. The graphics were excellent and being able to fight the animals, explore different parts of the island each having their own identity, being able to build two tree houses whilst keeping your eye on their water, food and life lines were sometimes difficult. All in all it for me it was one of these games that was slow to start but once into it was hooked! there were ...

Advantages: Lost in Blue is the perfect game for anyone who likes to think Disadvantages: Lost in Blue does not really a storyline
Lost in Blue is the perfect game for anyone who likes to think. Period. It's creative, difficult (in a good way), and just plain fun. Here's why:
Gameplay: 8.9/10
Amazing, simply amazing. You can hunt, fish, build, explore, or just relax on this tropical paradise. There are so many things to do in this game, and as long as you don't use a walkthrough, some of these puzzles will get you thinking really hard. There's an entire scrapbook to fill while ... ...isn't too great is the traveling. It takes so long to get anywhere, and you can't really make any small trips for an hour or so. Your cave is in a pretty uneventful spot.
Graphics: 9.0/10
For once, graphics that don't make my eyes hurt! These are very good graphics for a handheld (unless you compare it to the PSP) and everything looks smooth and colorful. The scenery looks very nice, especially near the beach and animals in the grasslands look ...

Advantages: A fun, rewarding and very different gameplaying adventure. Disadvantages: Can get a bit repatative.
...years later, there is another Lost in the Blue, But this time taking full advantage of all off the DS's special features.
Below I will brake the game down in to several catogories:
Graphics:
The graphics are good, they push the DS pretty far in terms of what it can do.They are full 3D and look similar to the N64's Graphics. However they do look a bit flicky.Especaialy when your character is running-he or she will become a blur.Compared to other ... ...best.
Overall rating:8/10.
Sound:
There is a fair few songs and most are pretty nice, you can happily whistle along to a few of them! However, as with most games, there is one or two that are just down right irratating. Overall rating:7/10.
Controls:
They are very simple and should not take long to learn. They are very well layed out.The backpack is very easy to navigate.
Overall rating:8/10.
Fun:
The game is very fun and the fact that it has ...

Lost in Blue Review ofLost in Blue (NDS)by

Advantages: Lots of Puzzles, Good Control System, Good graphics, Excellent Gameplay Disadvantages: Skye, The beggining
...you can do.
High Point: Killing your first deer
Low Point: Skye... grrrr!!
So there it is Lost in Blue, a good game in many ways just spoiled by one character and her inability to eat. Any comments on how this could be improved would be greatly appreciated. ...

Advantages: Great Game... Disadvantages: Nothis to say....
...Lost In Blue 2....
Survival Of The Thickest....
Forget ray mears and his shacks made of badger excrement an stinging nettles, for the true survival connoisseur there's no greater baptism of fire than konami's fiendishly difficult desert island sim.
Washed up on an island with a member of the opposite sex, only one thing comes to mind. No, not that you filth-mongers - we're talking grub. Every step you take on the island eats into your energy, which you must replenish by scavenging for cooking ingredients, shaking down coconuts with the stylus and squeezing out goats' milk with stylus-activated teat manipulation.
Much unintentinal hilarity is to be had. The way the characters feebly state "I am dying" every 30 seconds and retch when fed 'mysterious mushrooms' allows for cruel smiles, but your fellow resident's lack of AI...
