There are several branches of Lotus Leaf in London. The one on the Holloway Road is the upmarket neighbour of Om Shanti Om a few doors down the road. The same company owns both stores and I would think that Lotus leaf is aimed at a slightly older age group than its sister shop. There are several branches of Lotus Leaf in London. The one on the Holloway Road is the upmarket neighbour of Om Shanti Om a few doors down the road. The same company owns both stores and I would think that Lotus leaf is aimed at a slightly older age group than its sister shop. If you are going for an interview, starting a new job or just want to dress up a bit for a special night out and you are stuck for something to wear, it is well worth a look inside.
Prices start at around twenty pounds going up to the eighty or ninety level so they cannot really be described as rock bottom. However when the shop has a sale on I have sometimes seen items going for ten or fifteen pounds, but that is pretty unusual.
The main stock consists of women’s clothes of all kinds, including coats, jackets, trousers, shirts, tops and skirts. There are sometimes scarves, hats and bags on sale as well. Most of the stock is end of season garments, and a few seconds. Some of the styles of jackets, skirts and trousers in here do not date so with care, you can find things to buy that do not look as if they are something you have had since last year.
In this kind of shop it is sensible to check the finishing of garments, if they are seconds the fault should be marked. If it is not, then ask what is wrong. There usually seems to be quite a good range of sizes on offer but always try garments on and check your view from every angle in the full-length mirror at the back of the store.
Amongst some well-known labels I have seen in stock, have been French Connection, Nicole Fahri, and Fenwright and Mason. There are other labels I have never heard of, so if you worry about environmental issues and working conditions in clothes factories, then it is best to stick to the clothes on sale manufactured by companies you know have a policy.
This shop is open every day and on Saturdays it can be really busy with a wait to use the two changing rooms at the back of the store. Weekdays or Sundays are better time to visit as this guarantees the full attention of the very helpful and friendly staff who work there.
Advantages: Cheap clothes Disadvantages: Mostly mall sizes in stock
This small shop on the Holloway Road advertises its wares as being priced under ten pounds but much of the stock costs a lot less. The clothes on sale consist of designer labels, with rejects from high street chain stores and its near neighbour LotusLeaf (the same company owns both shops). There are some good bargains to be found, if a little care is taken.
When I last looked in there, there were clothes of every sort on sale. Many of them were ends of line remnants including a rail full of last year’s fake alligator look gear and as always there was other flashy stuff such as sequinned tops. There were also lots of skirts, trousers, jeans, shirts and tops, and casual sports wear. Sometimes there are scarves and hats on sale and occasionally clothes for children.
Although at these prices you are not going to buy anything ...
as explained above the store and its products are good, selling the garments at good prices and a wide range
teh only disadvantage to me , is that i have not seen many fo these stores around in any cities that i haev visited so i would not no apart from brist (*)
