Advantages: Impressive bass extension, depth and spaciousness Disadvantages: Perhaps it is not as lively as some speakers
...point in the arsenal of Wharfedale speakers but it's notable just how clear the notes are and thus just what a difference it makes to the overall listening experience. The icing on the cake is the treble which despite the volume, remains neutral and thus integrated to the rest of the sound. So if you are a fan of slow music or classical, you are bound to revel in this and for those who like their music, faster and harder, the bass extension and detail ... ...market remains fiercely competitive and Wharfedale have really been forced to up the ante in terms of sound quality to compete with Monitor Audio, but it's clear that they have now set the standard for others to follow. I would highly recommend these speakers and honestly see little to fault them on. If we are comparing like for like, then perhaps the BR2's retain a certain more excitement to the music which might be welcomed in some genres. However ...
Advantages: Fantastic bass Disadvantages: Can't really think of any!
I picked up a pair of these speakers in black from a local hifi store. I paid £170 for them, which was a great price.
As soon as I got them wired up I knew I had done well. They produce great bass through my entire music colelction. There is a reflex port at the top on the back, but this can be plugged with the supplied foam pads.
They are bi-wireable with good strong binding posts at the back, supporting banana plugs.
I don't really want to go ... ...any other true experts may be able to pull apart what I say. But I think anyone would agree that they look amazing (both with the grills on and off), so if you can get hold of some at a good price like I did, get them. They will do a good hifi a great deal of justice. ...

Review of Mission M 33 I
Advantages: Top sound quality, physical design, optional subwoofer Disadvantages: None as yet!
A fantastic speaker! I use two of these mainly for my band and have found them to sound exceptional for the price. They have a really wide dispersion meaning that everyone in the room can hear the highs, as well as the lows, which believe me are not lacking from what you may thing is a small 12" speaker. I have also used the SRM450s as floor monitors at other events, thanks to their wedge design when layed on their side.
The SRM450 is fairly weighty, ... ...own. The speaker has multiple carrying points and even flying points! One think to watch for is that the XLR inputs are not locking. If using as a floor wedge then loop the input cable around the handle to make sure that it doesn't get pulled out if someone catches a cable on their foot.
Picked mine up from gak.co.uk with two black tripod stands, two Rockbag protective carry bags and two 6m XLR cables for £808 delivered. Much more value than similar ...

Review of Mackie SRM450
Advantages: All round excellent Disadvantages: Nothing major
These all round speakers could be classed as the industry standard in the music business for studio monitors. Without paying very large amounts of money you probably won't get much better than these. These speakers aren't designed for the pimp my speaker competition and they're not going to win any style awards but after all it is a speaker and it is the sound which is important! With magnetic shielding you dont have to worry about putting them near ... ...or for video editing. They can cope with surpisingly high wattages to give some real punch for their size and their frequency response is excellent.
Basses are surprisingly good considering the small size of this speaker. Mids are decent and have a very high definition and quality. Highs are accurate and real. This speaker doesn't sound tin like.
The only real niggle is the slightly flimsy wall mount which could have been thought through better. ...
Advantages: Bass is deep and detailed, terrific presence, lively and engaging Disadvantages: Mid range could be more open
Before I bought these speakers I was somewhat new to the hi fi scene having only listened to a few systems and certainly hadn't heard of this particular manufacturer. All of that changed when a friend of mine took the plunge into hi fi speakers and demoed these speakers along with four other pairs including MA, B&W and Wharfedale. After a long listening decision it was obvious they were outstanding and my friend quickly snapped them up without a ... ...was suddenly able to truly enjoy my speakers as opposed to liking the vocal range of my previous speakers but never feeling truly happy with other aspects of the sound.. The first thing that strikes you about these speakers visually is their design, it's very attractive and belies their price tag. However where these speakers really shine is in their sonic performance across all genre ranges; from rock to rap, to reggae to dance and indeed classical. ...
