Cracking BR2s
Review of Monitor Audio Bronze BR2 by

Advantages: very detailed resolution but also warm sounding. Build, Looks, Cost, not fussy about positioning
Disadvantages: perhaps too refined and not enough bite, but none really
I've had these speakers for three weeks now, and I am very very impressed. Out of the box, I'm not sure why but you just know that these speakers are very nice bits of kit, there is an awe about them. You have three choices of finish black, cherry or walnut all in a pealrscent vynil finish, I went with the walnut. They are very attractive speakers both with the grilles in place or without. A sneak behind the grilles and you can see that fitment is ... ...very good quality, I havn't come across a speaker this well presented in this price range before...
Setting them up, you'll notice that the binding posts are also of superb quality, feeling nice and solid. I chose to bi-wire my set of speakers as I always do if possible. Positioning them is a doddle due to the bass port being front ported as opposed to rear, so you can near enough place them as close to the back wall as you would like, handy if ...

Great sound, great price!
Review of Mackie SRM450 by
Mr__Steve
Advantages: Top sound quality, physical design, optional subwoofer
Disadvantages: None as yet!
A fantastic speaker! I use two of these mainly for my band and have found them to sound exceptional for the price. They have a really wide dispersion meaning that everyone in the room can hear the highs, as well as the lows, which believe me are not lacking from what you may thing is a small 12" speaker. I have also used the SRM450s as floor monitors at other events, thanks to their wedge design when layed on their side.
The SRM450 is fairly weighty, ... ...own. The speaker has multiple carrying points and even flying points! One think to watch for is that the XLR inputs are not locking. If using as a floor wedge then loop the input cable around the handle to make sure that it doesn't get pulled out if someone catches a cable on their foot.
Picked mine up from gak.co.uk with two black tripod stands, two Rockbag protective carry bags and two 6m XLR cables for £808 delivered. Much more value than similar ...

Acoustic Energy Aego-m
Review of Acoustic Energy AEGO M by
gefb
Advantages: Attractive, good power, smooth sounding.
Disadvantages: None found yet
These speakers are very attractive, mine are white with black grilles, they are easy to set up and have 5 metres of cable to each satellite speaker, there is cabling for different applications, mine is for connection to my computer.
Having got everything connected and in position, power up and listen to some favourite tracks to see if any tweaking is needed, if you have Vista Home Premium it should have Realtek Audio Manager, this has 24 environment ... ...bass positions on the Aego and you have a possible 936 perm |
