These tannoys have opend my ears! Advantages: Awsome, rich and deitailed sound Disadvantages: Not the best lookers. I recently decided to buy my first separates system and after some heavy research (and a limited budget) I chose these speakers to go with my amp. the last pair of speakers I had were some eltax concept minis for my micro system and I was impressed with them. but after hearing these Its a whole different league of sound quality even my wife was couldn't help but comment how much better they sounded. There not the best or the worst looking speakers ... ...built. they have solid gold plated brass binding posts at the back, I'm not sure if you can put banana plugs in yet but i will find out in good time and incidentally there is a corner sticker on the back boasting of its audiophile credentials. Tannoy Arena: Sound and style that might just take you by surpris Advantages: Amazing sound and build quality Disadvantages: May not be to everyone's taste Tannoy Arena. These speakers are an amazing piece of tech, which can make a beautiful edition to your living room. Sound. I can’t fault these speakers for sound. They produce a meaty sound which makes explosions roar and are detailed enough so that you can pick out every crunch and chime from the shattering of glass. Music sounds bright and has depth. The bass box can be adjusted and its big sound blends with the other speakers. The Tannoys are loud ... ...have you pinned to the back wall. These speakers never sound small or weak. Looks and tactility. These speakers look and feel brilliant. They are a beautiful blend of high quality materials. Even when turned off they make a huge contribution to any room by being eye catching but not imposing. I have these speakers on the stands which are extra; they are beautifully crafted and fit perfectly. Verdict. You can’t really go wrong with these speakers, ... A Sound Bargain! Advantages: AWESOME sound quailty out of all proportion for the price (see review), decent build quality and finish, Disadvantages: Not so great for loud thumping Bass, but you can't have everything! Hulking them back home 15 miles. ...bit better. And why can't Tannoy shrink them when whey are placed in a car? Yes I know it's impossible but I always want it. However, these speakers have proved to be an absolutly outstanding buy. I would recommend them to anybody into Rock, Pop and/or Classical music. They can handle Beethoven as easily as Queen (I do like both) and compare well with many sub-£1000 spkrs. At £200 though they are an absolute steal. Thanks for reading. Tannoy EFX 5.1 Home Cinema Speakers. Good for the money! Advantages: Small and compact. Nice setup for the first time venture into Home Cinema. Disadvantages: Not very stylish. Lacks a "punch" from the Subwoofer. This is a small set of Home Cinema speakers that are OK for a small living room or bedroom, come Man-Room. Not the most stylish of speakers I must say, however hooked up to a decent Amplifier ( I have the Onkyo 605), these little babies shine. They are more suited to Movies than Music, but you can get a good sound for Music if you tweak the settings on the rear of the Subwoofer. They also bring your Games console to life as well, utilizing the full ... ...one gripe I have with these is the lack of depth to the subwoofer, however you cannot expect miracles from what is essentially a budget speaker system. In summary, well worth the modest asking price, albeit not very stylish. Arcus TC-60 Detailed and natural mid, crystal clear treble Advantages: Powerfull bass without annoying "boom noise". Detailed and natural mid & crystal clear high Disadvantages: None. Arcus TC-60 is a 3 way 3 drivers, bi-wirable speaker with gold plated sturdy binding posts. Like all German made products, I find it a seriously product when I first saw it. It delivers a superb clarity of sound in all frequencies, with very high transparencies in mid range. The bass driver can produce a powerful low bass but not excessive.
