Advantages: a good read Disadvantages: only some minor flaws
...When I read a review on Andrew Sean Greer's novel 'The Confessions of Max Tivoli' I knew at once I had to read it, the story is as weird as can be: a father writes down the story of his life for his son - doesn't sound weird but dead boring? Well, Father and son are both twelve years old! Weird enough?
The plot in a nutshell: Max Tivoli, the first person narrator, is born with a strange genetic quirk, he starts life as a baby trapped inside the body of a 70-year-old man and grows physically younger yet mentally older with the years until he finally becomes an old man trapped inside the body of a child.

Advantages: Informative, Engrossing, May Save Your Life Disadvantages: Contradicts Itself On Too Many Occasions
...Now I'm not normally much of a reader, and much prefer a good film rather than a book, however after reading The Zombie Survival Guide I'm willing to give reviewing it a shot.
The book basically outlines the precautions necessary to survive and defend against a zombie attack. It explains what a zombie is, how to destroy a zombie, the best weapons to do so and even how to build a fortress to start a new life once the zombies take over the world. Towards the end of the book there are even reported attacks and the accounts of those involved in them.
Max Brooks takes a lot from cinema himself, a lot of the ideas in the book are clearly influenced by popular zombie films such as Dawn of the Dead. I found the book to be utterly engrossing and for the first half I was actually debating with myself if zombies were infact real or not, I was...
