The Nova 3 AW is a nicely built bag that has a quality feel to it. The bag is composed off 3 main sections: The front pocket; where i keep a couple of filters and my cards, is quite snug but has plenty of little pockets in side to slip away those cards and lens caps etc, its well padded, with protection coming from the 'all-weather' (AW) cover located in a little pocket just in front it.
The main compartment isnt very spacious, its not going to hold any more than, the camera body and lens attached, with two lenses either side, or a body, flash and a lens. Its pretty well padded with two dividers that are reposistionable. The main compartment also has a weather proof zipped compartment on the roof, which will just about keep a big filter, cloth and variosu other little things in.
Once closed the bag has another zipped compartment on the flap where i keep my lens cloth. You wont get much else in this one, so imho its a pretty pointless pockect.
This bag is designed with short specific shoots and day trips in mind. You cant get more than three lenses in the bag which is a fair amount but if you have four and u leave one out, you can be damned sure thats the one your going to need! :)
Bearing that in mind, its very well built. It definately wont feel as if it will fall apart on you anytime soon and does it job pretty well. Access to the main compartment is both secure and easy to get into. Firstly it is zipped then has a clip-flappy thing :D that comes over and urmm clips over it.
On the side of the bag theres little elastic mesh pockets for keeping things like business cards or other little things you need close to hand. The back of the back also has a zipped compartment where you can get a few little other bits in. Maybe another filter or some more cards!! :D
To wear its very comfortable, it has a non-slip rubber gripped strap, that is well padded and easy to get on and off. Theres also a handle on top of the bag so that if youc want to carry it around or just keep it closer to you, you can. This is also rubberised and comfortable to hold.
The all weather cover annoys me a little bit though. It doesnt go all the way over the bag and I think this is for one reason. It doesnt go over the handle so i guess u can still carry it without the strap. Only problem is the top of the bag is still exposed and getting wet. Ok it has a lot of padding to get through, but that doesnt stop me from worrying! I thought a cover was supposed to cover everthing....maybe not :)
In conclusion though this bag is well designed (minus the cover) and does its job well. Its by no means the tardis, space wise, but ive heard u can travel through time with it :D Just kidding, but it is a good bag that will stand up to some punishment and will protect your kit well.
