Lucozade sport isotonic energy drink. As I write a bottle of this human petrol stands before me. Now if you’re like me when I first came across it, I’m guessing you think it’s like ambrosia for athletes. The reason I began drinking it was not because I saw Michael Owen sprinting on my television and then claiming it was all due to Lucozade sport, however it was slightly influential. However the reason I began drinking it was because a lot of my badminton ... ...**What is it?**
Lucozade isotonic energy drink is a creation from the same company who make the Lucozade fizzy drink. It is a still drink but it is ‘isotonic’ and is claimed to replenish energy (using carbohydrate) and salts (lost through sweat during exercise) quickly and effectively. Since it is ‘isotonic’ the idea is that it can diffuse straight into the cells rather than there being a concentration gradient.
**What varieties are there?**

Advantages: refreshing, tastes quite nice Disadvantages: doesn't do much for me, a bit pricy
...What is it **
Lucozade sport is an isotonic drink of the still variety and comes in two main flavours orange and lemon. The idea is that this energy drink gives your body a boost by providing carbohydrate fluid quickly to the working muscles and to replace the fluid lost through sweat. ** Reason I purchased **
The reason I first purchased this drink was that knowing it was still I wouldn't get a stitch during training and the fact that you can ... ...your body in many ways. Also the fact that they claim to be able to improve your sporting performance by 33% was also an added bonus. Especially for my friend as the last third of our time training he always gets tired.
** Did it perform **
So when put to the test how did it perform? Well I can never be quite sure, as I never feel extremely overwhelmed with extra energy or the so-called boost. Rather more like very refreshed and for a cheaper price ...

Advantages: Perks you up Disadvantages: Lots of caffeine
Switch on your Brain with Lucozade Sport Alert
A few mornings ago I was feeling tired and in definite need of a caffeine hit when lo and behold I was given a sample of the new Lucozade Alert at Kings Cross station. The day was starting to look up already.
This new Lucozade was just launched in April so it's a very new product, hence the give away to entice customers. It is Lucozade's first stimulation drink (much like the benefits of Red Bull) ... ...than the body for which Lucozade is famous with its other drinks. Apparently according to their category director, Simon Kemp, the original Lucozade energy drinks are focused on people doing hard physical exercise. This new drink is aimed at office workers. He said the new drink will be supported by a substantial marketing campaign. Well, they have definitely hit their marketing target with me and by giving out their drinks at Kings Cross they are ...

Advantages: It really does quench your thirst Disadvantages: 20 odd pee more than a normal can of drink, and I'm tight
...worthwhile, and luckily no-one's done Lucozade Sport yet, something I drink all the time (for all the wrong reasons).
Here is the patter - what they claim Lucozade Sport is all about...
"Lucozade sport is isotonic - it is specially formulated to be in balance with your body's own fluid. It quickly delivers a boost of carbohydrate energy to the working muscles and supplies fluid fast, which together help to maximise performance and endurance."
... ...whole load of use for Lucozade Sport in terms of it giving me loads of energy for running about. However, I don find myself gasping of an afternoon in the office, and when water just won't do it, Lucozade Sport is a splendid way to quench your thirst. I'd love to tell you how much it costs, but it differs between shops as most things do - it's 69p a can from the shop next to the office if that's any help, about 20p more than other random cans of ...

...wee lad being practically force-fed Lucozade by my mother anytime I was confined to bed with any ailment or other.
Not that you would have heard me complaining, mind you. It was/is totally delicious.
At that time (50’s and 60’s) about the only place you could buy Lucozade was in a chemists’ shop, as it was looked upon as a drink that was only given to people to assist in their recovery from illness.

Nowadays it can be found in practically every corner shop and supermarket, and on every garage forecourt in the country. In fact, anywhere soft drinks are sold, you can nearly be certain that Lucozade will be on offer.
~ ~ Following on from their success in turning Lucozade into a mainstream product in the marketplace, the manufacturers discovered another untapped ...
