My name is Martin Scholes. I like writing reviews on Ciao. I am married, we have a cockatiel and a cat. And a growing African Grey. Who orders the cat around!

The LED light, called Lucy, is brighter than conventional LED lights, half their size and it rotates through 360 degrees so it is easy to handle in small, dark spaces. Often where torches are required. Lucy has a clip on the base, so her bright, white beam of light can be aimed where you need it.
Lucy runs for ten hours before needing recharge. However, there have been cases where a Lucy unit has operated for a much longer period than ten hours.
And Lucy holds her charge for months in between uses. Lucy costs about £40 plus VAT, though can be found on line for somewhat less.
Lucy was developed by a Hampshire-based company called Luceotech whose directors, Anne and John Taylor, also run a garage and workshop.
Lucy's innovative design is so original that three patents are pending. Her main features are: Cordless operation and fully rechargeable in 2 hours by either a mains charger (supplied) or 12V vehicle charger. The lenses are replaceable lens. place by clamp.
The story goes that Lucy was designed after Anne carried out a survey of workshop mechanics at their garage, Taylors.
Apparently the workshop staff pointed out that they wanted a torch that did not need flex and which would be bright and not need constant recharging or heavy batteries.
Anne searched for such a torch, could not find one, so decided to design and make her own.
The clip is a bit too "workshop like" for some people. But this issue will be addressed when a second version is designed.
All-in-all I love my Lucy and would not be without it!
By the way, as with all powerful LED lights DO NOT look direct inot the beam, or point it at the eyes of any other person or creature.
