I had never ever considered using anything other than a spray deodrant, I was a hardcore spraycan deo user. So when I popped into a lush store when I was out for the day I was fairly reluctant when one of the Sales Assistants asked me if I would like to try the brand new deodrant cream that had just arrived in store. I declined and said that I did not fancy the solid deodrants and could not imagine using them. She assured me it was not a solid deodrant but was a cream and actually a totally new product for Lush that had only been in stores days. I had bought lots of pampering bits for myself for using in my hotel room later that evening and the Sales Assistant offered me a free sample of Aromacreme to try for myself at home so I thought why not! She gave me a small piece that had been moulded into the shape of a little man by another SA, popped it into a little sample pot and sent me on my way. I didn't even give it a second glance for a few weeks until I was at home and realised I had run out of deodrant. I was just on my way out to go weekly food shopping and as I have 2 small children this is not something I do without deodrant! So I decided to try some of the sample of aromacreme that was sitting on my shelf in my bathroom cabinet being neglected. It's a powdery cream which feels like quite a dry paste in your hands, but once the heat of your armpit gets to it then it melts into an oily cream. It is incredibly easy to apply and I did wonder why I had never bothered to try it before! I thought no more of it while shopping and continued to slog away chasing small boys around a crowded supermarket while trying to stop my husband sneaking impulse buys into the trolley. When I got home and took off my coat my husband commented that I smelled nice. I could also smell the nice smell and I soon realised it was coming from my armpits. The aromacreme smelled really strong and fresh. And even thought I was really sweating there was absolutely no bad smells under my arms. I was really pleased as I am no big fan of Anti perspirants due to having a blocked gland under my arm as a teenager. The following day I was shocked to realise I still smelled fresh, the aromacreme had worked like magic for over 24 hours!!
You can imagine my dissapointment when a few days later my armpits appeared to be on fire and had turned brown. I stopped using it immediately until a friend gave me some advice that I should smother my armpits in moisturiser or bodycream before putting the aromacreme on my armpits. I tried again and used Lush's Dream Cream with amazing results! It went on even easier than before and there was no stinging! I rub a fingerfull of Dream Cream into my armpits and make sure they are well covered, and then using a pea sized amount which is enough for both underarms, I split it in 2 and gently rub it into the cream. It melts like a dream. Don't rub it in too much though because this can cause irritation and can create the redness I experienced before. I now use it every 2 days, there really is no need to put it on any more than that because I have been known to not shower for 3 days and my armpits are still as fresh as a daisy after using Aromacreme.
One other tip is to keep it in a shampoo bar tin, it keeps it nicely moist and stops it going dry and hard which makes it harder to use. There are tiny brown and yellow bits in the aromacreme and I usually pick these out with a tweezers as these little buggers really sting if they get onto your skin!
Using Aromacreme sounds laborious and hard work but it really is worth it. You can use a product with fresh natural ingredients that are not tested on animals, that are much better for your body than the alternatives. You only need a very small amount so a 100g pot goes a long long way! 100g costs £3.95 and the pots are usually pre weighed in the shops for you to pick off the shelves. You can also purchase it online from the Lush website.
Advantages: Stops smells, lasts a long time Disadvantages: more expensive than 'normal' deoderants, maybe not great for sensitive armpits?
...I've always been a big lush fan and had tried lots of their products. I saw on their website that they also had a range of solid and cream deoderants and after seeing they had positive reviews on the site, I decided to give one ago.
As I was at home I decided to buy it off their website (At uni my local lush is 5 mins away but when at home it is 30mins and very hard to get to).
Price:
As I bought it online, it came as a set size and was £3.95 ... ...anyone who's bought anything from lush before will be familiar with the packaging style they use. Aromacreme comes in a clear plastic pot with black labels stuck on the lid and on the side. I also has a white label on the side telling you the weight, price and directions for use. The pot states:
'Absorbent micro-powders and soft butters to keep your armpits soft and free of whiffs'
'Take a small piece in your fingertips and smooth it under your ...

Advantages: Smells lovely and contain NO aluminium Disadvantages: none for me
...with aluminium. I've tried the Lush hard dry solid deodorant bars and although they smell nice they are difficult to apply. They hurt if you rub them under your arms, they suggest scraping powder off them with your nails - well not great really - you just get the stuff stuck up your nails. I was wandering through our new Westfield shopping centre in Derby and the smell of Lush drew me in as it does every time I pass -the smell is so inviting . Anyway ... ...visits. When you buy lush products they either come in the recyclable black pots or if they are loose products like this they are wrapped in a sort of greaseproof paper with the details of the product printed out on a sticky label - weight, price, product name etc. They then either put it in a small plastic bag or one of their paper bags with a carry handle. You can just pop it in your own bag too of course which is usually what I do. It then makes ...

Advantages: Incredibly effective, fantastic natural product Disadvantages: Stings a bit on freshly shaved armpits!
...tried (Bionsen, salt crystal ones, Lush solid deodarants) have lasted a couple of hours, but by mid-morning I have found a disconcerting whiff is reaching my nostrils, and by lunchtime my arms have become pinned to my side.
So when Meera in the Lush shop in Liverpool offered a sample of Aromacreme to me, I scoffed and was dismissive of her claims that it would work, explaining my cat pee scented problem to her. She showed me how it woorks by taking ... ...back of her hand. to form a powdery layer. She said how lovely it smelt, how great it was, how I should really try it. Never being one for turning down a freebie, I took it. I tried it.
Now every morning when I apply this deodorant I thank the stars that I took that sample. I am surprised every day when I realise I still smell sweet. Not a trace of bad odour, just the gentle scent of Aromacreme. At first I thought it smelt a bit soapy, not a bad ...

Advantages: the smell, the price, lasts for ages, eliminates sweat smells Disadvantages: can irritate skin with prolonged use
...while and being a huge Lush fan decided I would give their deodorants a go. I randomly picked Aromacreme to try first, and am so glad I did, as I've used it ever since, which has now been over a year!
ADVANTAGES
+I love the smell, its a powdery feminine smells and I never EVER smell of sweat while wearing it
+I only need to apply it every two days as it works so well
+You only need a tiny amount, about a pea size for both armpits so it lasts ... ...paraben free and not tested on animals
DISADVANTAGES
-After a lot of use it makes my armpits itchy so sometimes I need to go more than 2 days before applying it again
-It made my armpits brown! I now apply a small drop of cream to my armpits first (as suggested by another reviewer and this seems to solve the problem)
-As it is not an anti-perspirant it doesn't stop you from sweating and it leaves yellow marks on pale tops, although it washes ...

Advantages: : Easy to apply, subtle fragrence, can be used afer shaveing with no stinging Disadvantages: Its expensive, but otherwise this is a top prduct
, apparently Patchouli was used in the Victorian times to fragrence writing ink !
Lush do also produce some other deodorants, I have also tried Aromacreme and I can not decide which I like best between the 2, I find them both very effective, however Aromaco is much easier to use in my opinion.
I do not think this product would be enough as a sole product for someon with extreme sweating, however those with light to medium persperation would find this to be an effective useful product, its also good if you are out and about because you do not need to carry a bottle of deodorant around with you, you can just take a small piece off your bar and pop it in your bag.
I have been using my 20g piece for around 2 weeks and still have just over half left, so this product does last very well, despite its price I think I would consider buying this ...
