This is, without a doubt, my all-time favourite Lush soap. And it was my very first Lush soap, too! There I was, in a virgin Lush shower with Miranda and I was having such a fantastic shower, all because of a piece of soap! Needless to say my boyfriend thought i'd gone mad, as he said and I quote "its only a soap". Oh no my friend, its not just a soap its a Miranda soap!
Originally named Carmen Miranda (the singer from the 70s, who dressed in very elaborate head- gear made of fruit. She was as famous for her singing as she was for her fruity head dresses) it was created as a big soap "pie" decorated with huge pieces of carved soap fruit on top. Truly, it was nothing short of a work of art. But then it was briefly discontinued, reformulated, and returned as Miranda, a white to light green soap with the fruit now being stirred into the soapy batter to ensure that everyone gets chunks of fruity goodness throughout their entire slice.
The picture on this Lush review is not the actual picture of Miranda, well not the Miranda which is now availble to people.
Miranda is a A fresh fruit salad of a soap, Miranda is chock full of organic kiwi fruit that are full to bursting with vitamin C and gently astringent. Miranda is as fruity as it gets, but not in the typical Lush "citrus" vein of oranges or blackcurrant. Nonono! Miranda is unlike any other Lush scent: it smells like a Brazilian fruit salad thanks to fresh, astringent KIWI! Now add a touch of sweet, South Sea ylang ylang flora and the lusty spice of juniper berry (both known aphrodisiacs that are also superb for cleansing and refreshing the mind). Top it all off with anti-depressant, fruit peeled bergamot, and get ready to kick back (unselfconsciously naked, even!)
Not only is the mood-lifting scent enticingly exotic, but Miranda is also great for clarifying oily, spotty skin, even as her luxuriously rich lather nourishes and nurtures.
This soap is an ideal morning soap, when your indeed of waking up for another working day, this soap will gladly help you on your way. Apart from soothing it awakens the mind and refreshes the senses so your ready for the day ahead. It lathers up nicely, not too much so you are over powered with bubbles but just enough to get a nicely smooth lather all over your skin.
Miranda I have found lasts longer than any other soap I have purchased which is great value the only downside is that in the new soap they have brought out they include kiwi seeds which are supposed to be exfoliating but can be quite rough, but they can be easily removed.
Advantages: Wonderful Refreshing Aroma, Leaves skin feeling really soft and smooth Disadvantages: Only available from Lush, Fragrance may be too overpowering for some
