Who are Lush?
****************

Lush are a small company based in Poole, Dorset , and established in 1995. They were originally part of the team that developed products for The Body Shop way and then branched out on their own as Cosmetics to Go, now they have settled down and all grown up and are the Lush Company we all know and some of us love!

Lush specialise in making products by hand - Yes by their own fair hands!

They make all their products out of fresh fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics, they contain no animal ingredients, and all their ingredient lists are printed on the environmentally friendly and minimalist packaging.
They also go to great lengths to source products from ethical companies, who’s ingredients are never tested on animals.
.
Lush have now many stores throughout the UK, but for those like me who do not have a Lush store nearby they have an excellent online and mail order service.

For more information about the company and their other products you can visit their website at: www.lush.co.uk

Onto the product Review….

Lush Enzymion Moisturiser.

What does it do??
********************

This moisturiser is definitely for those amongst us that are cursed with oilier skin, as it contains Papaya which has a very strong enzymic action, too strong to be used on it’s own, which is why the clever people at lush have combined it with other yummy ingredients such as lemons, aloe Vera gel, cocoa butter so it soothes as it moisturises.

It claims to stimulate the skin, whilst making it feel soft and drying up the oil that makes you feel sad! And actually it does just that, I found that even after using it for only a few weeks my skin felt softer and looked better. My oily bits were now matt and my dryer bits were peachy soft!

What does it look like?
************************

The moisturiser is more of a cream than a lotion, but it’s not thick or solid, it will definitely spill if knocked over.

When you open the little 45g pot you are immediately hit with the fruity smell, a real blend of citrus and tropical fruits, really delicious smelling - almost good enough to eat! It’s smooth and shiny and snow white in colour.

What’s in it?
*************
Fresh Lemon infusion, Aloe Vera gel, Cocoa butter, Stearic Acid, Fresh Papaya, Cold pressed avocado oil, Glycerine, Triethanolamine, Freshly juiced lemon, Cold pressed evening primrose oil, Cold pressed wheat germ oil, Sweetie Grapefruit oil, Lime oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, *limonene, Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.
* occurs naturally in essential oils.

And the Packaging?
*********************

Now this is for a lot of people where Lush come unstuck, you either love the uncomplicated plain black pots or you just hate them. I am a lover not a hater!

Part of the Lush policy is that they believe in environmentally friendly packaging, it’s all about the products not the packaging, and I have to agree, I know that my hard earned cash is being spent of the good quality ingredients not fancy pretty packaging.

The plain black pots and bottles have hand printed labels on, clearly written in white print. They tell you the name of the product, what it’s for and the weight of content.
Also on the reverse of the product is another clearly written label, with a full list of ingredients and another smaller label tell you exactly which member of staff made your product, the date it was made on and the expiry date of your product, mine in this case was made by Nicky B on 10/04/2007 and my expiry date is 10/06/08.
I feel I should add that my pot had a screw on lid, which was tightly fastened and arrived in the post still closed, and I have never had any problems with these new screw tops, the old click on ones were a nightmare!

How Much was it?
*******************

It cost £10.95 for a 45g tub, which is quite pricey for me but well worth it, as it does last a long time and my skin is a lot clearer.
I also paid £3.95 P&P but that was on my whole order which totalled an obscene amount of money!

This cream also makes a fabulous base for make up, just apply wait a couple of minutes to allow it to sink in and then apply your foundation as normal. It really made my foundation stay put longer and made my skin look smooth and fresh.
